Jacket? Danier
Vest? Thrifted
Pants? Gap
Boots? Kenneth Cole, Winners
Sweater? F21
Necklace? Stolen from my Mama

This can't possibly be an outfit post. I am frolicking far too much for that kind of seriousness. I prefer to clamour over the snow in heels and freeze rather then frolic. To be honest, these pictures were not meant as outfit pictures. We took them last weekend when Matt and I went up to Niagara Falls with my brother and his wife. We stopped along the water and scooted down to the ice that formed along the lake. We took some pictures along the ice ridges and I just cropped out my family. First I treat them to this kind of hospitality and now this. I am a treat.

I know everyone is gearing up and tweeting (which is pretty much the same thing; as tweeting is preparedness) for this major snow storm that is coming this way. Well, I hope you enjoy your snow days; eating popcorn in bed and watching foreign movies (or at least say that they are foreign, sounds smarter...)... I shall be plowing snow for a long time. I always plow in snow storms but I know this one is going to be a huge, frustrating snow storm... I shall have no sleep, I shall run out of places to pile the snow and I shall deal with rude people who think I asked for the snow and if I didn't, I can at least make it disappear. I have a bit of a nervous pit in my stomach because I know just how tired I will get... but excited too. Bring it, snow!

And because you are so lucky ... I shall include some bonus shots...

Matt and I.

Kees and Else. They are cuter, I know. They don't bicker in public either.

Kees decides to tackle me. I got cold.

For some reason I thought it would be funny to be Gollum. This time I couldn't crop out the riff raff that was behind me...

First thought on first picture...
Hi cutie!
Then,
Hi family!
Then I read,
And I think you're just trying to flex your cool muscle that you get to go out and plow snow all day long.

Whatever Jentine. Whatever.

i think white is a good color for you--the snow brings out your rosiness.
and you and matt are so adorable it should be illegal.

@ Morgan and Lua... ha! So true... I am pretty cool in my plow truck. And it is fun for like...5/6 hours? And then after the 12 hour, your eyeballs are burning and you get pinched nerves and it just sucks...

You just look so cute. Like a polar bear!!! Only smaller. Much smaller than a polar bear.

OHHHHMYGAH I'm dying at your Gollum pic. That needs to be everywhere. WHERE ARE THE MAGICAL LITTLE LINKS at the bottom of the post that lets me submit to every major online media site?? I don't have Facebook but I would totally create an account just to have this pic up there for smiles.

I didn't even think about you + your job = plow hell. I didn't realize that was in the job description. BOOOOOOOO to that!

HAAAAAAAAHAHAHA! The Gollum picture is awesome. And the ones with your family are so fun! You look great, as usual. How do you manage to stay so cute in the cold? When I'm all bundled up, you can barely tell if I even have a face.

That's a mighty cute outfit for a non-outfit post! I LOVE the vest!

I am SWELTERING here (it's New Zealand, we don't have air conditioning in our homes), and those photos look SO GOOD. I am impressed by how snazzy you look goofing around with your family. I don't even know what a snow plough looks like ( . . like a grader?), but GO YOU!

1. I love your outfit.
2. I love photos that make Lake Ontario look nice. As someone who grew up living on the shore of Lake Ontario I always feel defensive when people say it's icky. It may be polluted, but at least it photographs well!

You look like you're having so much fun -- glad you all got to spend some time together!

I'm really in awe of your awesome backdrop -- gah, love the winter landscape! :)

I am still not convinced that stormaggedon (snowmaggedon??) is coming! I guess I'll believe it in the morning when I wake up and see all the snow....

I love that the description on the environment Canada website says "Major winter storm tonight into groundhog day." Poor Wiarton Willy is going to have to dig himself out just to tell us the obvious.

I had to claw my way out of this frigid Ottawa snowbank to leave you this comment!

Darn, I've never seen Gollum looks so un-monsterous!

Hope you like it!

Stay Happy and WARM!

How fun! I love hospitable you are to your family-- you crack me up! I am a new follower to your blog, and I love your stories and thrifting help (as I am an avid thrifter!). Even though it wasn't meant to be an outfit post, it's a great outfit!

GOLLUM! You are ridiculously fantastic.

And these pictures are superb. Your bro and wife are so very cute.

Oh that looks like fun! I moved to Southern California recently and I honestly miss the snow! But can't complain about the sun either :)

Awww, it looks like you guys are having fun. I hate the snow, though ;) F the snow. This winter has been a killer.

I love your blog, you make me laugh so much. Good luck with all the snow - hope people treat you well while you're helping them out.

You are so funny about your family - I just love how you write.

I feel guilty that the West coast has no snow (if I even mention it was sunny today and I went out without a coat, I might get lynched).

Happy plowing! Take some cut-up shots while you're at it and perhaps it won't seem so bad.

Probably the cutest snow day outfit ever! I LOVE that vest :)

This is out of control with awesomeness. You kind of make me sad there's no snow to play around in... kind of because I'm a whimp when it comes to cold. Too cute! xo

These pictures are so sweet. I love Niagra Falls. We used to go (Canada side, not New York) quite a bit when I was younger. Now it's been ages since I've even been to Canada. You're making me miss it. Stop that.

Side note: Do you really plow? Maybe I haven't been reading long enough to know. Wow! That's the sort of job where people should be thanking you profusely but instead you probably usually hear, "S'bout time!" I hope everything goes smoothly for you.

You would look more like Gollum if you were less pretty. When you're smaller, browners, have less hairs, and are generally wide-eyed and creepy in the awesomest way, then we'll see. :)

Your outfit is way too cool for the snow. During my snow-capades I wore 18 layers of black stuff and a puffy coat. You win, fo shiz. Those boots make my heart curdle w envy!

Louise (Fifth Sparrow) said...

This is the perfect snow day outfit, it almost makes me miss the white stuff. Nope. Scratch that. NOTHING, no matter how stylish it is, can make me miss it! But you still look awesome, especially as gollum. xxx

These are SO CUTE. And just so you know, while I did eat Special K in bed (popcorn woulda been better), I watched "the last song" - that's right, Miley Cyrus. Does the US count as foreign?

You look so amazing, and brave, in the snow! That's what I like to see :)
