Mystery Advice

roadtrip6roadtrip5roadtrip3roadtrip2roadtrip7roadtrip4

Jeans? Rue 21 Shirt? Winners Sweater? J. Crew, thrifted Necklace? Banana Republic Boots? Joe Fresh Travel bag? Bought at a garage sale and given to me by my Mama Pictures? Thanks Ginny...xoxo

This weekend my friend and I went on a last minute, spontaneous road trip across the border to a cool, little resort town in New York. We slept in a trailer. We over dressed to go out to the local watering hole. We took a 45 minute cab ride on the only cab available on a Friday night through three counties to get home. And we were given the advice by a plaid be-shirted young lady that we had to watch out for local boys. Apparently it is hunting season and the good guys are the ones that have only bagged 1 deer, not 4 deer...? We thought this advice had some sort of metaphorical meaning but I think it was just straight up advice to go for less successful hunter. And while I am quite happy with Matt and I'm not on the hunt for a hunter to call my own, I am still so stuck on what the advice meant... I hate mysteries.

At first I thought that I read that your travel bag was from Joe, and I got really excited, because I want a new weekender bag, and that one is fabulous.

Because you are only legally allowed one deer per hunter per season. If someone caught 4 he is breaking the law...Mystery Solved...ask my dad.

LOL that is the most random advice I have ever heard! The great thing about mysteries, though, is it's kind of like those old books . . . The Pick Your Own Adventure ones? Do you remember those? Anywho, you can make it your own is the moral of the story.

Love this travel bag and the great mustard jeans. Glad your trip was good and memorable!

Man who bags a deer, has skills.
Man who bags 4 deer, brags. (Also breaks law in some areas.)
The locals were simply advising you to take quality over quantity. Which is their way of saying "...because you're worth it."

I love this outfit! I've been so hooked on collared shirts layered under sweaters for the past few weeks, and you really brought the look up a notch. Now on my shopping list: a giant statement necklace and maybe (if I'm feeling brave) a pair of yellow pants.

Confirmed by ParisGrrl. I enjoy being right.

I'm a new follower, just found your blog and this outfit is simply gorgeous... loving your archives too. The statement necklace is beautifully contrasted with the sweater (which is slightly masculine, but I mean that in a good way)!

Would love it if you dropped by my blog sometime...!

chillaireandperfume- Don't buy the jeans! They were a stupid purchase... I love the colour but they are so thin and cheap and crappy. Truth.

Love your giant garage sale gift! I feel like I need to tote a huge bag like this as a diaper bag. My little boy makes even the biggest purse feel too small.

Ummm, what? Hahaha. Old ladies are crazy. I am LOVIN that bag! Love! Love! Love!

I absolutely love that statement necklace. I wouldn't think to put something to girlie with pieces that are more androgynous, but I absolutely love the contrast! And I'm not sure what to make of that advice either...

Those are some tight pants and you look amazing in them!

Healthy and Homemade- Um... the pants are TOO tight. Don't know if they will reappear again...

Ummm.... how very enigmatic. Why the smaller number? Eh, who cares.

On a far more serious note - is there room for your fridge and a couple of cats in your seriously giant bag? ;) Wowie. How convenient - I always end up taking like six bags when I travel because one is never big enough. Of course I have a three year old and he has more stuff than I do. ;) hehehe

Those pants are amazing- I've been dying for a pair of mustard colored ones. You know, because my red, green, and cobalt blue ones aren't enough :)
