A Flair for Flare

Jeans? Hudson, thrifted
Striped top? h&m
Belt? Banana Republic outlet
Flats? thrifted
Purse? Elliot Lucca, Winners
Necklace? The Last Hurrah

In Grade 7 I remember pointing and laughing at a girl a few grades below us who was wearing flare jeans (I was clearly a sweetheart...picking on younger kids in second hand clothing). I even went home and told my mom that I saw a girl wearing bellbottom jeans. Ewwwww.... My mom smacked me... Ok, she didn't but she should have. She did however, explain to me the cyclical nature of fashion and how I would one day be wanting some flared denim for myself. As if... not gonna happen.
Two years later you would have found me dragging my poor mother all over the mall in the search of the perfect flare jeans.
Wearing these Hudson's makes me feel like I'm in highschool again. Except for now I got the tall, dark and handsome guy and I have no curfew.

Oooh, I love this outfit. Its nice to put on some flairs every now and then, but to know that you can also wear skinnies or straight legs and not be laughed at!

Dang! That is one sassy look! Your blog is one of my favorites because I get both an inspiring outfit and usually a laugh to go with it. Keep it up!

I have definitely found myself wearing things I swore I never would - particularity since I found my way into the blogging world. I still surprise myself some days.

I love your top, especially with your bold necklace, so chic!

I'm really digging that necklace.

That top is sass with a capital S, but unless my boobs shrink overnight, one I cannot rock since I'm thinking a big bra strap across the middle is not, nor will ever be in style. le sigh.

if you're one of them ladies who bemoan their naturally curly hair, you can send it my way. please and thank you.

I remember that from elementary/middle school too - I didn't want to wear "bell-bottoms" so that was why I tight rolled my pants! By 8th grade, I was all about the flare. I love the back on the top and those jeans fit you perfectly!

Love the hair!! Your bod looks smokin'. (If that's not wildly inappropriate.)

The stripes and flares look awesomely naval.

I was SO the same about flares. I'm really glad they're coming back in style, because they are definitely flattering for my body.

I adore these with that striped shirt!!

I love that top! I'm always looking for scoopback tops and that one is killer. Also, I wish I could rock flares; they usually make me look about three feet tall.

wow, love this top! the back is unexpected & super cute!

I love these flare jeans! Guess mother knows best :-)

ohhh yeah I remember teasing my mom incessantly back in the mid to late 90s about tapered pants/jeans of the 80s. so ugly! they'll never come back!

and then... hello "skinny" jeans of the 2000s. of which I now own no less than 4 pairs.

anyway... aside from that little aside... this outfit is AMAZING. you look so freaking foxy in it, and the back is so sex-ay! love it forever, even if flares go "out of style" again.

so sexy! i love the top! you look amazing!!

i hope flares never really go out of style (again) because the proportions are just right for most women.
