Another Weather Report

Skirt? Thrifted Shirt? h&m Vest? Thrifted Belt? Roots, thrifted Shoes? Frye, Winners Bracelets? Thrifted and the Crazy lady at The Ex Purse? Thrifted

We've been in the Netherlands for a week now, and so far it's almost my dream country. The streets are cobbled. Picturesque canals run through most towns. There is rush hour... for bike traffic. I can buy droppies everywhere! Dutch girls wear colours, prints and layers even when they don't have a fashion blog. Yogourt comes in easy pour cartons.

I told you... Holland is magical. A sweet dutch man even took in my camera when I left it after setting it down on the street as I unlocked my bike and returned it to me, when I came back to the location half an hour later, practically in tears. That's a lie, I don't do anything 'practically in tears', I just skip right to the full-on tears part...

If there is anything that stops Holland from being perfect, it is the weather and the tiny bathrooms. It's been cold and rainy with 5 minute increments of sunshine for the time that we have been here and legend has it, that it has been so this whole summer. I get to practice my autumn wardrobe in this chilly weather and I feel all inspired with the seasonal change; that's the good news. There is no good news concerning the small bathrooms though... I just need to get used to my knees touching the door. Weird.

I've heard Europe is famous for their tini tiny bathrooms. I guess you get used to it? Not sure I would..but meh. And that is so sweet that man made sure to keep your camera safe. I'd be in tears too.

I love the bright orange skirt you are wearing too! The layering is so great as well:)

Can't believe most of this outfit is thrifted! Looks amazing - you're inspiring me to check out my local thrift stores more often :)

I am SO jealous that you're getting to play around with layers right now!

Holland looks good on you :) I know what you mean about the little bathrooms, my sister lives in Germany and you can't even put your arms up in the shower - you just kind of stand there with your arms at your side squirting soap up into the air and hoping it lands somewhere it needs to be.

Hahahaha, when you said you were going to Holland in your email, I thought you meant Holland, MI. Anyways, I am glad you are having a great trip!!!!

Glad you are loving Holland, m'dear! Your skirt POPS like crazy in these photos, it jumped right off my bloglovin'!! You look perfectly layered for the chilly weather! Love it!

First of all..Droppies are gross!
secondly why the hell would they make such tiny bathrooms? Dutch people are freaking huge...like taller than tall...were they smaller way back in the day?
I'm going to lose sleep over this now.

Also I miss you.

:) <3

ahha I love this! Buying droppies everywhere is one the best parts of Holland! (sad but true) This vest/shirt combo is pure perfection, and I hope that the bloggers in Ontario will start to influence the real world to wear bright colours. Maybe you should wear your landscaping kneepads when you use the washroom. Just saying.

Is it horrible that I can't disconnect you from the movie Girl with a Pearl Earring? Never mind that it was probably a different country....maybe? Geography never was my strong point.

Love the red skirt and layers; you are looking perfectly fall-ish.

I feel like homes are smaller in Europe in general! Especially the bathrooms!

I am obsessing over your amazing skirt! LOVE IT!

We were in Amsterdam in mid July and it rained approximately 85% of the time. I'd optimistically packed as though I was going to some Mediterranean beach resort...no coat, just a helluva lot of dresses and wedges. Needless to say, negotiating the cobbled streets, and dodging bikes and puddles was 'interesting.' Managed to resist donning my bikini though...

Yet it was still a beautiful city and an awesome holiday. That's the beauty of the Netherlands for you. I'm jealous you're there now!

This is a great look. I don't relate to a lot of layering but I feel like even I could do this look! It's very sleek.

Oh my goodness, this post makes me so nostalgic! I studied abroad in Holland when I was an undergrad and it was the greatest time in my life. I loved the country and the weather and the everything.

That truly does sound like a magical place! Even if the weather isn't the greatest, you made up for it with this super outfit! I love the skirt, that color is fantastic on you.

I am so claustrophobic I don't think I would be able to handle the small bathrooms! No way hose! Love your skirt! You look beautiful as always. I love visiting new places.

You look 100 miles tall in these photos, and I mean that in the best possible way. Also, the color combos and layering in this outfit are just effing phenomenal.

I LOVE Holland. I lived there five years as a kid and have such great memories! (And I was a tiny little girl so the small bathrooms didn't bother me, but yeah, it's the tallest population in Europe and they pee in teeeny tiny cubicles, kind of weird...).
I love the contrast between the gray weather (that I used to love as a kid for some reason) and your bright and colorful outfit (which is totally awesome by the way).
I used too many brackets in this comment, but I'm too lazy to change things around...

Dutch bathrooms are very tiny. I'm staying in Utrecht with my family and I still can't get used to our bathroom. There's some really good websites that give you exact times for when rain will come. That way I know the rain will continue for 15 minutes and I'll have 30 minutes to get to the cafe. I love the outfit by the way! Very nice layering. I hope you enjoy the country. Eat lots of stroopwafels!
