I fight battles with Fridays. I love the weekends; meeting up with friends, going out, dressing up (yup)... and I hate to waste a second of them. Unfortunately, on Fridays I come home from work so physically exhausted that it's hard to get the motivation to do anything. If there are plans, I'm good. I may be late to show at whatever is going on but if I say I will show, I'm there. 'I meant what I said and I said what I meant, an elephant's faithful 100%'... thank-you Dr. Seuss. I love that line and I live it...well, except for likening myself to an elephant but you get the idea.
However, if Matt and I don't have concrete plans and if my butt and the couch meet, it's game over. Attach a few straws together to reach from my glass of wine on the table to me on the couch and I may be able to finish half a glass before I'm asleep.
This weekend I was determined to not let my weekday exhaustion win over my weekend extravagance, so I avoided the couch like the plague. By 10:30 I finally had showered, tamed the dread locks the wind had put into my hair and applied my face ( a mask really). We walked over to a local pub (may I gush for a moment about living downtown? Of course I can, it's my blog... I love that we can just walk to go to so many unique places and not just hop in our car and end up at a chain restaurant...) had a few drinks and some nachos and made it home to be in bed by midnight. I know, not the most exciting night... But I wore a shiny jacket and we beat the Friday Funk. Friday-0, Matt and Yen-1.

I love the mix of the fancy with the casual!
Oh how awesome it must be to live in a downtown area, where you don't have to use your car at all! We live up in the hills of Lahaina, so we can definitely walk into town, but I'd rather not walk back up. ha ha. I love that shiny blazer of yours! It's amaaaazing.. and that bag, gorg!

That's so funny...yesterday to pick up a few things at the local Italian market I wore jeans, a long sleeve T in a dark Dr. Pepper red, black Skechers with rhinestone pavé toes, and a softly metallic bronze leather jacket that has brass stud detail. Very similar in feel to your outfit here. Oh yeah, and my pewter leather handbag.)
I looove metallics, and could dress head to toe in silver, topped with a silver coat, at any time. Go shiny!
Love the jacket and how you dressed it down and made it casual!
I love every single thing about this outfit: hoodie, plaid, shiny, skinnies, boots, bracelet.
When I was your age (just call me Nana) I always used to crash out on Friday nights too. Now I don't have that luxury as I'm constantly being pestered by children (one of whom loves nothing better than joining a series of straws together. But not to drink wine with. Obvz.)
I love that jacket and the way you paired it with the plaid! And I know how you feel about Friday nights, I work all day Saturdays, and am usually already exhausted from Friday night's antics so it's nearly impossible for me to do anything Saturday. If it's not a movie night, I'll be in bed by 11! But I'm glad you concured your tiredness and still had a good night!
Ugh, I totally understand the Friday evening doldrums. Usually all I want to do is rent a movie (which I fall asleep within the first 30 minutes of viewing) and lay around the house. Kudos to you for making it out for a bit! :) Love the mix of textures in this look, too.
That blazer = amazingness (if that's a word)! I like how its paired with the hoodie and torn jeans.
I have to say I'm pretty worthless on Fridays. I have no motivation. With that said, I really like this outfit. It's comfy and chic with that great blazer.
I love the mix of flannel and that awesome shiny jacket. It's so unexpected and fresh.
Ha! I used to be the same way on Friday's after work. If I even LOOKED at the couch it would end up being a night of pizza, What Not to Wear and cuddling with the cat.
woah woah woah that is the most amazing blazer I have ever seen.
I like the casual look you paired a fitted GOLLLLD blazer with, and the most perfectly shaped hand bag ever. Just adore it.
ha, I know exactly how you feel about the couch and Friday nights. I call it the "Inertia Factor". An object in motion stays in motion, and all that.
That blazer sure does deserve its own event, though! And of course, the blue of that plaid is just divine on you.
GORGEOUS jacket!!! it was worth going out just to wear it! ;)
Love love love this outfit. I am so enamored of the way you mix super casual and super dressy. You are a style icon.
I am the SAME way about Fridays. I can go out if I have plans, or if I go straight out from the office. Otherwise. It's over. I'm in and I am down for the count.
I stayed in on Friday. Not because I was tired, though the Manfriend was snoring in 2.2 seconds, but because I'm lame. However, I made up for it Saturday night since I went dancing with the gays. I'm going to become their newest club rat. It's good to have dreams and aspirations right?
gimme that purse. please and thank you.
I really love that jacket! It's a perfect way to dress up a casually chic evening outfit.
Hey hey!!
We posted about the party, and put a link in there for you!! Had a blast!

love love love! That jacket is insane!
First of all, may I just say that it is so refreshing to know that I'm not the only one who experiences the Friday funk?! I'm the exact same way. If I'm headed out to meet friends or we've made plans, I eventually get a second wind. If not, it's Chinese takeout on the couch and in bed by 10 o'clock. I'm such a loser :)
Secondly, that jacket is BANANAS! Love it!
You take the absolute BEST photos in the COOLEST places! I love these...the one of you sitting on top of the carriage is so great! I would have probably fallen on my head. lol
Cute laid back outfit too!

Is it wrong for a grown woman to fall in love with a jacket?
