The Prowl

Matt told me I looked hot in this outfit. He said I looked 'cougar chic.' I am 6 years younger than Matt, so I was hoping it would still be a while before we crossed the cougar line, but he was being complimentary.

Faux fur jacket? thrifted
Jeans? Zara
Shoulder padded sweater? Zara
Boots? Modern Vintage
Wristlet? Coach from Linda

Looking back at the pictures, this look is very familiar. It reminds me of several years ago, fighting my way through a crush of, -ahem-slightly older Bon Jovi fans, who were on their way to a concert while I was trying to catch my bus.

In all honesty, this is the only time during the duration of this blog that I have had to talk myself into an outfit. That day, nature gave me wild hair (which was fun) but when paired with the jacket, I did look a little naturally hungover. I tried to tone it down with jeans and no accessorizing of any kind, but wearing super high heels (which put me in at well over 6 feet) and walking around with a German-Sheppard cross over my shoulders, is going to make me stand out. After much waffling on whether or not I should wear this out, I committed to it. It was really and truly freezing that night and I paid money for that jacket ($15, Salvation Army), so I might as well work the look. And in a way, it was strangely liberating... I held my own in a super ridiculous faux fur jacket in some local, low-key pubs. Because I can, it's as simple as that....

A cougar?? You aren't nearly old enough for that! But I get the compliment. :) The jacket is very cool and I'm glad you wore it and worked it! You do look great.

Oh my gosh. At the chance of sounding super creepy -- Can we be best friends? And can I borrow that jacket? Every post your write makes me laugh and I adore your wardrobe. Of course you held your own in the faux fur jacket! You look precious.

I'm going to be laughing about the german shepard comment for days...

I adore the untamed vixen look, wild hair and all! You are working the look for sure.

And my dear, I hope to give you a REAL LIFE hug someday instead of just the occasional virtual one.

you look rocker chic, woman... you'd need some smudged-from-sleeping black eyeliner to look post-party-hungover! and you owning your faux-fur + skyscraper heel look for a night out at a pub is awesome! worrrrk it!

I love it! I hear ya, though... I have yet to wear my thrifted fur as well.

The interview was pretty pointless... I just met w/ HR who told me to keep applying for jobs online...

Hahaha! Too funny - I'm 'over 35', shall we say, and I am massively into Bon Jovi (listening to the box set as I type, and that is NOT a coincidence, it's just what I do). You look way better in your outfit than I do going to a concert - I'm all about the jumping-up-and-down-while-singing type of attire. ;D

"Cougar chic" hahahahahaha I LOVE it! And that coat (I almost wrote "goat"?) is super sexy.

And my word verification was "stags"! Seems fitting for a post about wild animals.
