I found a good way to ignore reality and escape your problems.
Sew sparkly crap unto your stuff.
I've been admiring
this shirt from Maison Scotch for a while now... So, I decided to do my own thing and bleach out a
Joe Fresh shirt and sew on some sequins instead. I have the one side left to embellish but it will be done this weekend. Mark my words. Because the sooner this shirt enters my rotation of wardrobe basics, the better.
Yeah, it's taken a couple hours... But there is something oddly relaxing about hand beading. I don't knit or crochet but I imagine the feeling is a little similar?
There are many other ways I could have spent those hours besides sewing on sequins but, my mind is calmer and my shirt is sparklier. Win. Win.
Have a wonderful weekend! May it be sparkly and bright.

I love this. I now want to try it for myself, though I am absolutely rubbish when it comes to sewing.
Eeeeep.

I wanted to do this to a pair of shorts! If I started now, I'd have all winter. . . hmmmm.
Your uncanning ability for bleaching and sewing sequins amazes me.

Love this!! And you look absolutely gorgeous in that picture :)
I love your lipstick color AND as a knitter--super calming. The only thing that helped me make it through National Boards Certification while planning my wedding. ;) Seriously, what's that lip color?
Brilliant! I will have to try this. Funny, I was just waxing poetic about Joe Fresh on a recent post.
This looks fantastic! And I might prefer your version better than the Madison Scotch one.
Okay, so this is officially the greatest idea. It looks fantastic!
I like your thinking. Way to put that Fashion design degree to good use!
Love love love this! Should I say love one more time? LOOOOOOOVE!
Can't wait to see it in an outfit post!
You're discovered the secret of why I DIY--it's therapeutic.
That shirt looks fantastic so far! Love the bleach pattern. Did you use any special technique?
I'll definitely be trying this.

Will you sew sparkly crap on my stuff? :-)
I love this idea because I adore sequin collars. I totally need to do this!
This is such a cute idea! Can't wait to see what it looks like when it is done. :)

love how your shirt is turning up. btw you are the sole reason I want a light denim shirt!!!
I love it! Super great. I feel like you are bound to have a good day when you wear that shirt. I hope you feel better!
So pretty! Definitely (maybe?) worth the hours of labour haha! Although I agree about the calming effect - I just spent a good hour boyfriend-ing some jeans of mine. Individually pulling out each thread was actually quite relaxing :)
Life etc
Hot damn, I didn't know you did that because I didn't read this post until now. I was staring at your collar all day wondering. I know my answer...
OH! I wish I had some sequins with me, that is the perfect FRANKENSTORM project!
This looks awesome!
love it!
