Take Two

pink4pink6pink3pink2pink1

Skirt? Joe Fresh Shirt? Black Rainn, Winners Shoes? Mea Shadow (here, for a lot more than I paid for them), Winners Purse? Tignanello, thrifted Silk Scarf and bangles? Thrifted (one bangle came undone mid shoot...)

This is one of the very few times I asked my crew to re-shoot an outfit. In the morning we happened to take pictures in the 5 minutes of dark calm before a thunderstorm. We just ignored the lightning that started (don't worry, we were safe... I had my least favourite assistant hold a metal umbrella in the clearing) but then realized later that every shot was grainy because of the intense cloud cover. So we took the minute of time we had in the afternoon (when it got sunny and warm... it felt like... what is that thing called? Oh ya! Spring! ) and took pictures as lots of people walked by and stared.

Usually I am not crazy like that. I try to avoid lightning strikes and prying eyes but I had to put The Blog first today. The biggest risk I take on a regular day is not vacuuming the cat hair off the stairs and taking the chance that company might just drop in. I also like taking risks at Winners sometimes... I visited these shoes many times over the last months, patiently waiting for the price to fall from $129 to $25. Some people bungee jump while I wait for price drops. Who's exciting now, huh?

Well look at you, you little hot pink chunk of love. I'm impressed, 129-25. Can I brag for a sec that I got the same deal, it was on some Michael Kor's hiking boot wedges, I just slowly and painfully watched that number go down over months...so worth it even though I was sleepless over those boots for like two months.

I love that you tie a scarf onto your purse handles. I've done this for years as learned from my grandmother. I actually never realized I was doing it until it was done out of utility. When I simply didn't want to wear my scarf anymore (indoors, or it got too warm), I didn't know where to put it and so I tied it to my purse. Then - in mild shock - I thought, "so that's why Grandma does this."

The shoes are hot too!

Wow. Great job outta you on those shoes! It's unbelievable that the price dropped so much.

I'm with you: There have been just a few times where I've demanded, err, asked for, a second round of photos. Eric DOES NOT love when that happens.

Swooning over those shoes, the color and cut out details make them so pretty!

your photographer sounds a lot more obedient than mine :)
and you really have tenacity with deal-hunting--i always feel this enormous moral superiority when i wait till something drops to its most ridiculously low price.

Making a trip to winner this week! cant wait to see what I can pick up...also curious...what size is the skirt from Joe Fresh? do you feel like you need to alter their clothes?

The other day I went into Winners (on Bloor St. to be exact) and I checked the shoe department and all of the shoes I saw were ugly (to be frank). And this makes me so frustrated! Because I see so many girls in cute shoes and when I ask them where they bought them they always say "Winners" and I just want to scream "WHAT WINNERS STORE ARE YOU SHOPPING AT BECAUSE I CAN NEVER FIND ANYTHING GOOD THERE!!" *sigh*. These shoes you are wearing is another example of that. Do you have any advice about shopping at Winners? These shoes are damn cute and they look comfortable to boot. In fact, this whole outfit is awesome and I'm glad you and your crew took the time to re-shoot :)

Hey now, a good bargain can get a girl's heart rate up just as well as a bungee jump! Happy you stalked these shoes - I love them, especially with the olive shirt!

Holy moly, that's a deal. Although those amazing shoes might just have been worth full price!

Now those shoes are something else!! Love the whole outfit and the shoes just add a special touch. Great job on the bargain hunting, you're a girl after this bargainista's heart. :)

Those shoes are fabulous and were well worth the wait. I've stalked clothing before until the price dropped to something I could afford/justify. And you always feel so proud of yourself when you succeed in that feat! I truly understand the feeling. Nice work!

Glad the blog came first, as that is an amazing outfit. And I love those shoes.

Let people stare. They probably thought your outfit was wonderful. I got called a poser by a bunch of 10 year olds on bikes when I did today's shoot but didn't care. You look amazing.

Tabitha said...

Glad you patiently waited for those shoes to realize that they needed you at $25 more than you needed them. :) Awesome steal.

Hot stuff, woman, hot stuff. Mmmmhmmm.

Snagging hot items on sale is pretty exciting, I'd say (nearly $100 off?! Amazing job!). Combine it with bungee jumping and you probably have the thrill of a lifetime. ;)

I bought that skirt as a pre xmas gift to myself on a whim, hoping i could match it with a few things. I included it in the last 30 for 30 and between you and Kendi as inspiration it is one of my fav pieces in my wardrobe to mix and match. LOVE!

Also following your thrifting advice, i scored big at Talize last week!!
