Blazer? Ralph Lauren, thrifted
Sweater? Ralph Lauren, thrifted
Shorts? Joie, Holt's Last Call
Boots? Winners (the sales stalking is paying off)
Purse? Tignanello, thrifted

Yeah, I wore this blazer within the last week and blogged about it too. A great risk I realize. This could really be a new movement in fashion blogging and I, My Edit, The Brand could be at the helm. I can't wait to see what is around the corner. Maybe the future holds such exciting ideas as taking dinner leftovers for lunch the next day or maybe even finding a way to re-use plastic bottles to make new plastic bottles. My mind is blowing.

Or... we may have had 1 day of temperatures about the freezing mark and with the excitement of spring around the corner, I wanted to wear the blazer again before the daffodils pop up.
It all seems rather unlikely though. Spring is still a bit away, more up the street then just around the corner... And taking leftovers for lunch just seems like pure crazy talk...

But getting lots of wear out of an awesome blazer? That makes a lot of sense.

I had leftovers for dinner. Does that count?

I love the blazer, and your springtime wishes. Though I think that if any part of this outfit is wishin' for warm temps, it's those shorts... :)

I'm admiring the small details here--the studs on the boots and the oversized pearl earrings. I'm totally unbothered by seeing the same blazer twice in a week. Isn't that how we REALLY wear our clothes?

The blazer is amazing... I wouldn't mind wearing it waaay more than once a week. Why Not! ;) and I definitely love your boots as well.

xx Love & Aloha

THE BRAND, HAHAHA. Do you like how I always shout your words back at you w/raucous laughter? Good.

I want everything about this outfit + the location but mostly your legs.

Oh my goodness - how to you ALWAYS find awesome things at Winners? I swear I go all the time, especially during sales but I never find anything particularly awesome. Especially not good deals!

Those are some April 2009 legs. Don't even act like you don't know what I mean.

Also that makes me sound like a pervert. Find me on Flickr, k?

Well, that blazer IS pretty sweet! I luuuuurve the elbow patches. Why are elbow patches so darn sexy? I kinda blame my old economics professor. Its hard to focus on the bottom line when an attractive man is gesturing in tweed and elbow patches.

Wow! You pulled an amazing outfit, love the way everything matches perfectly without being obvious, speacilly those elbow patches are so perfect for those boots! Looking great!

Hey, first time commenter, long time reader (sorry for not commenting earlier).

I love your outfit in this post.
But, please tell me, how do you pull off the tights and shorts look in the snowy weather? I live in NYC, and I'm always afraid it's too cold to really wear that look. Are you able to stay reasonably warm when you wear it?

If you were a dude it would like you were peeing, out of the back of your knee, or maybe not but that last picture is making me feel oddly juvenile.

I love those awesome boots!

Emily- ahaha... when I first read your comment, I was a bit confused but when I took a look, I realize you are so right. classic... knee pee?

Kate- I wear socks inside my boots for extra warmth and it was actually hovering close to freezing, so it wasn't bad at all. I wore a huge jacket over top as well because I find if my trunk (I hate this word) is warm, then I can handle some chill on my legs.

I, too, would wear that blazer every damn day if only it were mine.

I love this outfit - so simple and chic.

Is 'torso' a better word?

I covet your blazer with the elbow patches! You may have inspired me to style my own version tomorrow. I don't live with snow, so I wonder, how are you staying warm?

You are one brave woman to be wearing shorts during the winter, but I absolutely adore this look! And yes, the blazer is beautiful : )

This whole outfit sings. The studs on the boots, the elbow patches on the blazer, the shorts and tights...perfection.

Love it! There are def some items I am trying to get some use out of as well before the end of the season.

Your boots! You always find the best boots, seriously. SERIOUSLY. Between you and Sal from Already Pretty, I have some serious boot issues.

And, you make me miss work. If I still had a job, I'd be wearing my blazers. :/ But now I'm a stay at home mom to a dog!

This is the greatest tights/shorts combo I've seen lately! I love the polished shorts (not ragged denim shorts) with the nice sweater and belt. And that blazer. Come on, we'd all wear it everyday if we could! If you told me to pair tights, boots and shorts, I would never have picture something this put together. Thanks for the inspiration! :)

I cannot abide leftovers for lunch (or any other meal), but I can definitely abide this lovely blazer as many times as you care to wear it, because it is super rad, and not meant to languish in your closet after being worn once. Blaze on!

I just thrifted and wore a similar blazer last week. I'm not too comfortable with styling blazers yet and I love the idea of wearing it with shorts and boots! Going to give that one a try... Thanks for the inspiration!

I LOOOOVE the outfit, possibly my favourite so far, LOOOOOVE the boots, love the fact that you are from Canada (I live in Calgary), absolutely love your sense of humour, and I also love that I can post comments as "Anonymous". I've tried to leave comments few times in the past but I couldn't because I don't have a gmail account. I would be curious to know how much you paid for the boots compared to the original price. Last week I bought a pair of Nine West boots for around $60, and the original price was $298. I must admit that they are a bit out of my comfort zone and the main reason I bought them was because they were so cheap.

i'm so impatient when it comes to sales! i always worry that i'm going to miss out and someone's else is going to take home my shoes to live in their closet and i just can't stand the thought. i need to learn from your awesome deal-finding skills :).

myedit said...

anon- I got the boots for $80... they were originally priced at $200 (Winners price so you know it's actually even better!). I could hve waited a bit longer for another discount or two but I decided that these will get so much wear that it's not worth the chance. Love them!
ps. Winners end of season sales end Feb 27... go shopping again for more deals! I am a Winners pusher...

Awesome Emily, I am big Winners Shopping too.....
Your blazer is awesome... I saw it on Tuesday at my local thrift store and thought there was no way I could put it off, but girl you did!
Awesome!
