Shoes? Cole Haan, gifted
Jeans? J Brand, Holt's Last Call
Shirt? h&m
Sweater?
Dez, thrifted
Sunglasses? Betsey Johnson, Winners
Leather Zip tie? Borrowed years ago from a boy I went to elementary school with because I was going through a 'I hate Avril Lavigne but ties are cool' phase... never returned it, oops! And yes, it bugs me that the tie is flipped over the collar in the last picture...

I know it miffs some people that I have a degree in Fashion Design but I choose to work in the landscape industry. I love the feeling of dirt in my hands, the deep sleep that follows a physical day and watching the plants we put in flourish (and if they don't do well, I take it way too personally). Besides, I don't know how most people's work week starts off but a few weeks ago, I went into work on a Monday morning and I was the proud owner of a pair of Italian made, Cole Haan oxfords by 10 am. I have some really great customers... I guess these shoes were bought by one of my customer's for her daughter a few years back but they never fit right, so they stayed in storage until my Cinderella moment. They. are. so. darn. pretty. I don't feel like the pictures do the workmanship on these shoes justice... If you ever come over for a tea, I will let you pet them.

However, just to stop me from getting too cocky about the perks of my job, the same week, I busted another customer's 65 year old neighbour enjoying the last rays of summer in his rather expansive birthday suit. I suppose that is just the ebb and flow of life, the up and downs that we all face... One day, life hands me patent leather carefully wrapped in tissue paper and the next day, life brings me naturally aged leather sprawling on a lawn chair.

the shoes=awesome.
the naked sunbathing=unfortunate.
sometimes i also wish i had a job that let me work with my hands--there's nothing like the feeling of satisfaction after a day of real work!

Those shoes are amazing. You look so dapper.
Naked sunbathing? Hahaha!

Only you can wear a tie and look cool while doing it. I salute you...I would curtsy or something but I think anyone that wears a tie deserves a solid salute.

How is it that traditional menswear always looks so darn sexy on a woman?

Sorry about the naked man - that part not so sexy!!

Not all old people are "cute"...

And those shoes are pretty pretty. *pet pet*

That second photo is stunning! I too, love the feel of being exhausted after hard work outside. It makes sleeping so much more satisfying. :)

i appreciate the contrast between your gorgeous sunset photos (that first one is insane) and the birthday suit story. All my warm feelings were stepped on when I read those last few lines lol. Those shoes are an amazing gift. Now that's what I call a Monday!

Patent leather.....naturally aged leather! That's hysterical! ~Serene

Oh my god! I would die of hysterical laughter if I saw that! My job has it's perks too. I work as a bank teller and we have a camera in our drive thru to see our customers better. Well one day this dude spent a good minute picking his nose, not even realizing we could see him. Oh man! Made my day! Sort of like your Cole Haan shoes. hehe..
And your outfit paired with those shoes is such a great look. You look very cute!

I have one thing to say...

F*CK you! I still STILL can't find affordable leather Oxfords, and may have to settle for stupid fake leather ones... I sad :(.

p.s. I'm size 8.5...for future reference.

Avril Lavine really did ruin ties for a few years there, but I think it's safe now. I love this one, it's so thin (and leather!) Oh my! Leathery old man though... not cool!

I tip my hat off to you! I've tried to do the wearing oxfords with skinny jeans look, but I can't work it. You, on the other hand, rock it!

UM -- stop stealing the outfits that are in my head that I'd never be brave enough to wear. Also, stop looking better in them than I would.

Someone has a birthday coming up.... I'll be there tomorrow to help you celebrate. Pick me up at the airport?

Those look so cute on you! When I wear them, I look like Ellen.
