Trench? Handmade, thrifted
Skinnies? Gap Outlet
Boots? Stuart Weitzman, Winners
Shirt? Joe Fresh
Purse? Vintage boutique

Autumn is my least sarcastic season. I have something smart-ass to say about everything (sometimes that's not so good) but the beauty of fall turns me into a big ball of mush. I have the privilege of working on some amazing properties and lately there have been glorious moments when the sun cracks through the cloud cover illuminating all the golden leaves and I feel so thankful. I start with being thankful for the beauty around me and it spreads to a general feeling of thankfulness... our families, our friends, our jobs, our home, our kitties... It all begins with some colourful leaves and it ends with secret little tears of thankfulness.
It's a good thing a long, cold Canadian winter follows the fall. Too much of these good feelings and I might turn into a nice person.

I love this bubble-hem trench almost as much as the fall. I would describe exactly how much I love it but I think I just used up all the positive adjectives in the dictionary in the first paragraph.

I too love the trench and I will now give you some positive adjectives to describe it; immaculate, gorgeous, stunning, you get the picture. Seriously awesome coat, random question. How did you get your pictures side by side in the last picture. I've been trying to do that and I'm just computeriliterate...I made that word up.

Your trench is amazing! I want it now.

Dang, that bubble-hem jacket is FANTASTIC! Fan-freaking-tastic. And I love your statement about sarcasm in autumn. I totally feel the same way. :)

I had to stare at these pictures for a long time to figure out what was going on here, and I think I finally got it...that's a picnic bench right? Maybe. No, not at all. Ah back to where I started. All the leaves are throwing me off.
Lovely outfit though. I'm glad fall is full force in Canada right now, we're a little behind here in NY.

I was so excited to see you visited my blog and left a comment. I LOVE your blog and think you are so funny and stylish. Do I sound like a scary superfan right now? Because I am. :)

But seriously, I like the trench and the picture of you laying on the bench is gorgeous.

I was JUST thinking about that very trench yesterday while I was walking down the street...yes, I realize that sounds kind of creepy, but I was seriously thinking to myself "Wow, it's been a while since we saw that trench that she said had to be a fashion student's project..." Granted, I had myedit on the mind because I had just left Goodwill where I'd found one of the Gap shirts that you wear a lot. Again, I'm proving my creepiness. I will end this [creepy] comment by saying that I love your outfit, love the background, and DAMN those boots are killer.

Wow, it's so gorgeous there! You look great!

I can't believe you thrifted that trench -- it is so cool. Love how you styled it. You look like a Ralph Lauren ad!

I might give a finger for that trench coat. Gorgeous. And I need to get out to Ontario to see what it's like out there. I've heard it's really beautiful. I know it's gorgeous out here in Vancouver! Well, when it's not raining. :)

Kate said...

Aw, I love your little autumn runway! So cute. And yes, nothing like our cold Canadian winters to instill a little bitterness... it's already reached -1 here (early morning... about 10 during the day) and I'm so cold I am amazed that I survive when it's 30 degrees colder than that. Shiver.

Rhitbee said...

So gorgeous - autumn is the perfect season for outfit photos! I am going to be so depressed when winter comes. I hope you don't mind - but I loved your musing about autumn so much that I paraphrased you over on my blog!

that trench is handmade?! wow! i love it!

Christen said...

Wait. You made that trench? Um, can I send you a thrifted trench and pay you to make it that beautiful?! Good God, you are talented. And I love that you resist becoming a nice person - nice is so overrated ;)

In Kinsey's Closet said...

I love that trench. It is my favorite piece you have ever worn!!

Fashion Therapist said...

OMG I love this outfit and I can't believe that trench. Amazing!

myedit said...

Christen- I wish I made this jacket... I thrifted it and I can see from the construction that it is handmade. I think it may be a school project... whatever it is, I love it!

Kendi Lea said...

Jentine -- you might be the prettiest girl ever. That is all I have to say about this post. Maybe Autumn makes me less sarcastic.

Also, when we meet can I borrow that jacket for forever? Kthanksbye!

What a beautiful Fall!

And I just adore your trench so much. Did you DIY it after purchasing or did you find it already in that condition.

Either way it's wonderful and this whole look just makes me crave the cool weather!

A bubble hem trench?! I'm so awed by the adorableness.

Beautiful pictures! The first time I read this, I missed the "thrifted" and just saw "handmade." I was amazed by your sewing talent. Still, I am amazed by your styling talent. You look great.

I love this post, because fall makes me all sappy, too!

Whoa whoa whoa - do you realize that I didn't realize (until later in the post) that you were walking on a picnic table? Yes, it's true. I didn't. I confess. However, it looks great... like a real autumn runway!! (good title)
