Dress? Vintage, Out of the Past (taken in and hemmed) Shoes? Lamb, Winners (can't really find them online any more but here is a nice pair in the same colour that is probably more walkable...)
I wore this out for a family dinner at a local Korean restaurant. As could be expected, I was a tad overdressed compared to the rest of my family. We should just refer to the art of overdressing as, Jentine-ing... Anyone else do that? Add 'ing' to a name to make it a verb?
For example, my brother Henk has this theory that the best way to beat jetlag is to immediately adjust your body to the new timezone. So when we fly to Holland, the flights from Toronto to Amsterdam almost always land in the morning and Henk-ing it would be to stubbornly push yourself to stay awake all day, even if you have had no sleep all night. I am not a fan of Henk-ing it, once I feel so tired I might fall in a canal, I take a sweet, blissful nap.
Sadly though, I am afraid Jentine-ing will never catch on, even as a hashtag... Too many possibilities for misspelling and mispronunciation. For now, we will just call overdressing, overdressing...

You look SO gorgeous.
....and omg, look how long that hair is getting!! :D
I love dressing up, but always seem to be the most dressed up one in the bunch. My husband gets embarrassed sometimes lol but I'm ok with 'Jentine-ing it' ;)
Noun to verb - I love this idea!

Fun fact: A verb that's been turned into a noun (like running) is called a gerund. A noun into a verb, though, has a much longer name that I had to google to be able to spell: denominalisation.
Also, your dress is very cute :)
Your hair has been killing me lately Jentine. It looks fabulous. I'm jealous, really. I won't lie!

pretty! the red shoes were totally unexpected, but brilliant. have a lovely weekend, dear.
Overdressing is the #1 reason I quiz my family and others about what to wear. I have decided lately that I don't really care that much and am asking less and less.
BTW I love your name, it is sooo pretty - what does it mean?
Gorgeous dress!!
Those shooooes!
You're such a dollface, that first picture is so lovely!
I am a fan of Jentine-ing and Henking! I like to be overdressed because I like to dress up and don't care if others aren't. In fact, they are more likely to notice me if I'm overdressed (vain, I know).
I also like to adjust to new timezones as quickly as possible and will go by the new place's timetable the day that I arrive there. Flying to Shanghai from NZ meant I had an hour's sleep in 30-something hours, I think, but I had no jetlag!
Ha ha! I recently went out with my family and was totally Jentine-ing. I actually comforted myself at the time with the thought that you had done the same. The new 'WWJD'?!
Love the color combo!
In my world of style there is never anything called overdressing. It drives me crazy; everyone else is always so under dressed! So to me, you must always be dead on perfect!
oh my nerves, i am ALWAYS over dressed! And my friends so have a verb for my name, Sydney-ing is doing something, forgetting to tell people and getting huffy when they don't know about it (like when I got a tattoo and was appalled my friends didn't know about it 8 months later...yeah ...lol)
Love those shoes! And, I definitely overdress for everything, as well!

What a gorgeous pairing of colors!!! I just love this outfit. Don't change a thing. Keep on Jentine-ing:-)

As hard as it is, I think your bro is on the right track as far as jetlag is concerned.
As for overdressing, I am a repeat offender. But I have to say - I love your outfit! That dress is really pretty and those shoes are always a win.
Long time reader, first time commenter! I always wondered exactly how often you hear the question, "why/what are you dressed up for?" Feel free to estimate in nickels. Love your shoes!
Your dress very beautiful!!!
Amazing look!!

Hi there,
A real impressive post! I am in fact pleased to glance at this blog’s posts which contain plenty of useful data.
I almost always feel overdressed wherever I go, but life is more fun that way I think! I love the color combo of your dress and shoes.
I was jentine-ing at my brother-in-law's wedding rehearsal. I wore a red dress as a shkirt with a lace top over it with a gold statement necklace. Everyone else was in jeans or shorts and plain t-shirts, even the bride-to-be. I'm not sure if it's overdressed if the event calls for being dressed up and no one else does it.
Gorgeous!

Among my friends "to Rachel" means to leave a social gathering within a minute of having announced your intention to leave. I hate protracted goodbyes, and once I've decided I'm ready to leave, I'm out of there! It's caught on quite well. )
You know that you are totally gorgeous right?
