1. I will always remember my grandmother with this salamander bracelet on her wrist, Werther's Originals in her purse and smile lines around her eyes. When I was younger I would ask if I could borrow the bracelet for just a few minutes. I wouldn't have to ask for the Werther's because they usually just appeared.
That's why I think it is so special that my parents recently brought back for me from Holland the salamander bracelet that my late grandmother (my Oma...) often wore. It feels so special to wear it! This piece has huge sentimental value to me and reminds me of good childhood memories every time I look at my wrist...
In other news,  my Werther's consumption has gone up considerably in the recent weeks...
2. I got both of these rings from friends, many years ago for my birthday. I wear them all the time and I love the way they look together. I suspect buying a gift for me is not an easy task (though wine, hugs, kittens, a car wash and salted licorice are always good bets...) and I love that both of these gifted rings are pieces I reach for all the time.
3. My philosophy concerning necklaces (what... you don't have a necklace philosophy?) is 'why wear just one?'. Necklaces and Lays potato chips are much better in multiples. Recently I have been pairing my Clyde's Rebirth jewels with something sparkly from J. Crew. After all, nothing says 'I am a well rounded consumer' than mixing some mass production with an Etsy find.

(as always, follow me on Instagram at myeditblog for more of this stuff... and stuff.)

Aw, that is so nice that you now have your grandmother's bracelet. I love family pieces.

The story behind your oma's bracelet warmed my heart. I have a ring that belonged to my grandma, nobody wanted it because it was in need of repair. Mom took it, had it fixed up, and now it's a family heirloom because it's one of the precious few things we were able to save that belonged to her.

I really like your necklace philosophy. Now that I think of it, it's logical and makes so much sense. The salamander bracelet is a beautiful piece, both for its story and for its uniqueness.

I love your salamander bracelet! I have a gold watch that belonged to my grandpa that I wear a lot. It makes me feel like I have a piece of him with me wherever I go. Family heirlooms are the best.

anon- the black bracelet is from Cuba. I think it's just painted wood made to look like coral.

Damn. Whenever I ask someone "where'd you get that?" so I can copycat their amazing style, I always get some dreamy far away place like Cuba or the GAP 14 years ago...

Totally beautiful. Thanks for replying.
