Warmth and Word

Snood? American Eagle (similar) Jeans? J Brand Lovestory (here) Sweater? Handknit alpaca, thrifted
Purse? Thrifted

Everyone needs a snood in their life. Not only because of their neck warming abilities and general adorableness, but because they are called snoods. And snood is a fun word. That said, I get over words very quickly. Once social media gets a hold of a good word, they like to throw a # in front of it and over use it so much that you want to shut off the internet and enjoy the real world. So, get yourself a snood now because if you get it in 2 months, I will be thoroughly un-enchanted with the word, and you can only call it a faux fur neck warmer. Definitely not as cool sounding as snood. Also, in two months, I am optimistically hoping that winter will be on its way out and the snood won't be a part of my everyday wardrobe...

Great, I just ruined a nice word in one stupid post.

P.S. Yeah. It just happened, I made a Facebook page for the blog. I am so connected, it scares me... If you wanna 'like' me, I will try to be a positive addition to your Facebook feed...

Snood is a word that continues to crack me up, at the costume place I work at they hair these hair pieces that hold your hair in a net and they call those snoods!

Also love your jumper, I've been looking for a lovely chunky oversized one like that!

I want you to know that even though I'm not on the Facebook, I did sit in front of your page, make air quotes with my fingers, and say "like." Same goes for you and the snood.

That sweater is beyond adorable! Actually I loathe the word snood (I think because it sounds too much like snooty.)

I want to know how you know that is a handknit alpaca sweater if you thrifted it.
And I want jeans that fit like yours.

I hate the word "snood". It sounds so gross and ugly...which they definitely are not. I prefer, circle scarf, or infinity scarf...

I've never heard of a snood! I think I've heard it referred to as a cowl, but snood is so much better. Love your humor and excited that you're going to be at the Texas Style Council Conference!

Snood is absolutely a fun word. But how do you manage to look impossibly chic when it is impossibly cold? It's been in the 20s for two days here and my sweater+pants+scarf combination is simply not up to par. Maybe I'm going wrong with the scarf; maybe I should replace it with a snood. :)

I love your snood! I've never heard that word before, but I'll definitely use it.

I just got almost the exact same snood from Hollister a few days ago!

YOU look great. I love the sweater. that is not a snood, though. A snood is for the hair usually a net that holds the hair low on the neck. Alot of Orthodox Jews wear them as the hair is considered a God's glory. A snood offers a way for a woman to not show her hair to all men. It is a modesty issue.

Danielle- True. Snood originally refers to a net that holds hair at the back of the neck, and it seems the fashion world has hijacked the word to refer to a close-fitting circular scarf. There are lively debates over the matter...
Also, snood refers to the pendulous skin over a turkey's beak... now I know...:)

love your purse! I got a similar one, Bally vintage red velour, in order to match a great pair of flat pointy cK shoes (which I've got in NYC and have nothing else to pair with).

Now I am matching everything else with my purse instead hihi
