For some reason, people always feel the need to point out the obvious when I am wearing this necklace. 'You're wearing a horse around your neck.'
'Yes, it appears I am.'
What I really want to say is 'Now that I've got your attention, can I just point out to you how hard it is to tuck a wool sequin vest into a snug waistband? Also, I love my little cross body bag but it doesn't even hold a pair of sunglasses. It does hold lip gloss though, which is good, because I am absolutely addicted to lip gloss. And these shoes? I bought them in a terribly selfish moment of 'I had a bad week so I deserve something new' and now I feel the need to wear them a lot to make them worth the investment but I also feel a twinge of guilt every time I do wear them...'
But I would never say all that to someone; I would just blog it instead. I save my cuss words for real life and my clothing ramblings for the blog. It's about balance.

I wouldn't feel too guilty about those shoes. They're amazing, and in such a neutral color, you can wear them with almost anything. I bet they'd look really cute with a little pair of socks!

I am in love with that top! I have to say I'm even more in love with the way you styled it! I would never have thought of trying this during the day, but it totally worked! I also like the fact that you paired it with a blue, lightweight skirt. It balanced out perfectly!
Can I also agree on your splurging principle? I do have days when I feel too stressed out that I have the craving to splurge? Then I feel guilty and feel the need to make it worthwhile by wearing it lots of times...just to get my justification fix...haha!

I agree (on the cuss words IRL). Every girl needs a new pair of shoes. As for the obvious comments, my friend and I prefer to use a blank stare to said commenter and utter the phrase "are you sure?" Like, duh!! I love your sequined top!

Q in my mind when I first saw your outfit - how hard it must have been to tuck the top!?! Is that top heavy and slides down when you wear it? Asking this coz I saw something similar in my thrift store here and was immediately drawn to it. But when I tried it on it just felt too heavy and would not stay in place!!

Newpetite-It's actually not too heavy, it's just a lot of bulk to tuck into a waistband.
This is so lovely - as always, you are the queen of vintage sequins, and you always look glamorous in them.

This top is awesome. It's pattern reminds me of a fish (a really CHIC fish). There was that book about the rainbow fish with the shiny glittery scales and every time he met another fish he would trade them one of this glitter scales. Until finally all the fish has one glitter scale and he was a rainbow of different colors.
This shirt is a little like that fish at the beginning of the story. Maybe you are destined to give everyone you meet an urge to wear more sequins.

Eep. I must have one of those necklaces. I have a Bambi one and it gets exactly the same comments from people. Do they think we get dressed with our eyes closed or something? Chances are if I've got something on, I do indeed know that I'm wearing it.
Oh, I like the horse! As for the top and keeping it tucked in, perhaps a bit of elastic around the hem or a drawstring thru the hem would help.

I recently filled out a questionnaire about my shopping habits and learned that I am a "cryer buyer". Meaning I shop to improve my mood. But I don't like to think it's all as cut and dried as that...
