Dress? h&m (recent) Belt? Thrifted Trench? Club Monaco, thrifted Boots? Winners Harness? Clyde's Rebirth photos by Miz Merl

One of the reasons I went to NYC was to join in the celebration of Morgan's birthday. Cause that is what I do... I travel the country to deliver birthday bumps. Who's next?

I planned on wearing the belt half inside and half outside my dress. I did the same thing with this cape, open the side seams just enough to slide a belt through... It gives me a little shape up front and keeps the pretty drape in the back free. What I didn't plan on, was having access to Merl's handmade Clyde's Rebirth jewelry and her wares looping their way through the dress and making me feel special all night. I also didn't plan on wearing flats... but I decided to piggy back a friend while wearing heels the night before and you can guess exactly what happened. My ankle is still tender.

That night we watched the sun set over the New York skyline from a rooftop patio in Brooklyn and we cramped in as much conversation as we could. Sound romantic? It was. I am very thankful I could personally deliver Morgan her birthday bumps this year.

It should be noted that these pictures were taken on Saturday night. At the time, it just seemed ironic to put the girl from Canada in front of the huge American flag that dominated the street. The following evening we were hanging around watching a movie, when the news of Bin Laden's death broke on Twitter. And just as I will always remember the moment I heard about the attacks on 9/11, I will always remember this historical event as well. An event that hit closer to home in the company of my American friends.

I just discovered your blog and now I'm completely smitten. The gold harness threaded inside and outside of your dress is so clever and pretty - I'm so eager to try!

That harness is inspired! God, I feel so dull - it would literally never occur to me to do something like that with a piece of jewellery.

Once again, the boots are awesome! This dress is cute too, I haven't seen it at H&M. I will have to look again!

I can't imagine what it would have been like to hear the news about Osama while in NYC. As a Canadian, it's hard to understand what that must feel like.

My birthday isn't until September, but I will be expecting you to fly in for it! :) I've never heard of birthday bumps before so I'm not sure that I want them, though?

Also --- LOVE the harness. Ahh. That Merl…she gets me every time!

pretty sure matt needs to see how good that harness looks [and how much better it would look sans clothes.. just ask amanda ;)] because I'm not sure anyone else can do it justice like you have. I kinda wish I hadn't met you again, because now you are firmly encased in my stone cold [mis-typed gold and almost left it] heart and not being able to suffocate you on a regular basis makes me sad. My Canada trip needs to be booked pronto.

ps cute hair.

Can I dress you up in my love?
Sun drenched and I love it.

I can't believe that we were together for that night. Everything about it was surreal. Not to mention the fact that I was sitting on the couch in my tiny NYC apartment with two people who I had met on the internet and just experienced one of the most historical events that has taken place during my life. Alot to digest to say the least.

Um, how ridiculously gorgeous are you? The first photo and the 2nd to last photo (the close up of the back) are stunning! And Morgan hiding in your coat is pretty darn cute, too!

NOVEMBER 3RD! BE THERE OR I WILL HUNT YOU DOWN!

Oh, and Morgan is lucky I wasn't there, because I would have yanked her right out of your trenched arms and hopped in myself.

Man, this comment makes me sound really violent. Totally inaccurate depiction, because all I really want is to snuggle with you.

COME SEEEEE MEEEEE!
