Field of Weeds

dandelion7dandelion6dandelion8dandelion5dandelion1dandelion4

Dress? Handmade, vintage, White Elephant Shoes? Frye, Winners Purse? Thrifted Belt? Roots, thrifted

I need another vintage dress like Paris Hilton needs another reality show. And we all know how that is going to end, so I just caved and bought this pretty blue number from White Elephant during the Art Crawl this month. The ladies at White Elephant had kitties from a local rescue agency in their window that night but I came too late and missed the opportunity to take home my fourth cat. So I took home the dress instead. Matt was relieved.

The fields of dandelions everywhere are an effect of the tightened pesticides regulations in Ontario these past few years. While homeowners stand on their property line guarding against interlopers from the city fields, I did what any self-respecting fashion blogger would do... I frolicked in the dandelion field whimsically (as frolicking should always be done in a whimsical manner). Dandelions are the new carnations, mark my words.

Love these gorgeous pictures, and as always your posts are SO fabulous witty!! And the dress? Ah, gorgeous... love that shade of blue on you. xx veronika

Your dress is beautiful and the pictures look great against the field of dandelions! I wish the U.S. would ban pesticide use. It sickens me to see it in our public parks and schools where children play. Those are great shoes too!!

This dress is gorgeous! The color is so lush. And Paris Hilton does have a new reality show, in fact. I think it's on Oxygen or some channel like that which shows old ANTM episodes all the time.

You claim that your boy-toy isn't really a photographer. But he must have an amazing innate ability (I'm sure mixed with your cropping skillz) becuase these are gorgeous photos. I love the contrast between the yellow flowers & blue dress. This looks fantastic :)

You are so striking in blue!

I know dandelions are hated weeds, but they sure are purdy.

HOLY SMOKES. You are a stunner. The last two photos before the text are crazy incredible - like made my jaw drop beautiful! This might be my favorite photo set of yours ever. So pretty. Also, I laughed out loud re: dandelions being the new carnations. Does anybody like carnations? Such a filler flower.

Love the photos! I've always thought dandelions were pretty...until they get grey and fluffy and stick to you.

One day I was at the farm, collecting those yellow weeds and my boyfriend said :'If I was giving you a bouquet of those you would be offended and now you are collecting them?'
Before I got the time to claim that they are beautiful nevertheless they are weeds, he walked away saying..'ppfff girls!'
It was a funny moment :)))

I'm so happy to hear the dandelion craze! Now my lawn is evidence me being cutting edge rather than lazy.
I'm willing to take surplus dresses off your hands whenever, mama. Just say the word.

GREAT photos today.. love your creativity.. and you can make wine out of dandelions.. I do know this because My dad made us pick them when we were young so he could make wine.. and I hated it.. my hand would be all stained yellow... but the upside was that my friends and I would sneak the wine for school dances... so I guess it all works out in the end.. LOL

great outfit too by the way :)

The side laying picture is the BEST EVAH....first of all because you look like a giant....second because you look like an album cover....for They Might Be Giants??? Ha.

When I saw the field of dandys I had a mild panic attack, after having spent a better part of spring so far digging (digging, not spraying) them out of my flower beds. I'm still not right in the head.

This dress is one of my favorites. In my blogreader feed all I saw was 'handmade' and I was like 'holy crap, you MADE THAT?'. Anyways, not to get you down that you didn't. Because I'm positive you could.

But it is maybe THE dress I would take if I could ever raid your closet.
