At Long Last

Yesterday, Paul and Linda both came willingly to the altar, and amid a few tears (a few is the polite way of saying a lot) they spoke their vows. So, my little Rinda (for some reason we call her that...) is a married woman. I'm sure Linda will do a mega wedding post, but I edited from the just under 300 shots we took, to give you a glimpse of the festivities and more importantly, the fashion. I'll do a post of my bridesmaid attire on the morrow.
The wedding was a lot of fun but it's nice to be back to normal now. I made Linda's dress so, of course, I had major anxiety about that (one day I'll post on my love/hate relationship with the bridal wear I create...). Hopefully, my life will slow down a bit now... But I'm so glad that Linda looked smoking, that the day went really well and that Paul and Linda are now all married and stuff.

wedding nervous
Slightly nervous but beautiful...

wedding back
Lots of Italian hugs and kisses.

wedding chapel
Exiting the little chapel on 'The Land', where we took the wedding pictures.

wedding group
Paparazzi on the bridal party.

wedding funny
Something funny...

wedding short
Surprise! Linda's dress lost the bottom layer for the dance! I wish we had a better picture of the short version but I was probably too busy dancing and Matt was too busy sneaking cigars (gross...).
Interesting fact about Linda... you have to blackmail Linda to go out anywhere there is a dance floor. But yet, when there is a dancefloor, she's in the middle of it, tearing it up. Girl can dance... Probably gets it from her father, he killed it during Rasputin!

Anyways...
Congrats Paul and Linda!!!! You're good kids and we love you!

Sequins Sensation # 422

'S' from Achedemichic recently listed me as one of her daily reads which is flattering, of course. Unfortunately, I feel guilty because try as I might, I don't post enough to be a daily read, however if you want to re-read me like a classic Jane Austin I'd be thrilled.

Thanks to her post I got 13 followers in 2 days (welcome to the fold...)! That's what happens when you impress those in high places....

Jacket? Debbie Shuchat (Winners)
T-shirt? Jacob
Sequined leggings? h&m
Booties? Max Studio (Winners)
Bracelets? Cuba
Earrings? Debatable

So, I finally wore my sequined leggings... I paired them with a cropped structured jacket to emphasize the top of my body rather than the bottom. It's funny, I don't mind wearing a belt and calling it a skirt but leggings still scare me a bit... However, it's cute and I like it. I wish the light picked up the massive sparkle I was actually sporting but I just missed the sunset. These shorter days are tough for a fashion blogger...

The quality is a little lacking (shocking for H&M, I know...), so I started out the night wearing sequined leggings and ended it wearing sequins track pants. If Marc Jacobs debuts football chic sequined track pants in his next collection, he better recognize....

The big deal about me wearing sequined leggings isn't really about the sequins but more about the leggings. This is my first public legging foray in 4 years and even though I do think they are cute, I prefer the structure of a pair of cigarette pants. But Dutch me says I paid money for these suckers, and as long as the butt doesn't bag out too much, you will see them again and possibly again. But if anyone sees a pair of reasonable priced embellished pants, give this kid a shout...

Once Upon a Time...

....I saw a guy at my church with really blue eyes and big dimples and I decided we should date. Five years later, we got married. True story.

ourwedding6
We do.

ourwedding1
Awwww... haha, Matt's shadow is like The Hulk.

ourwedding4
Randomly stopped by my work to get a shot with 'my' truck. Nerdy but I kinda like it.

ourwedding3
The bridesmaids with their unintentionally matching dresses. More on that here.

ourwedding2
Had to include this picture because nephew, 'A', would not stop wailing in the picture. So, we cropped in on us and the tearful child (sorry, 'L', you got cut buddy... you needed to cry for the picture) and made this our thank-you card. We wrote across the picture 'Hope you had a better time than 'A''. Some people did not see this writing and wondered why we sent out a thank-you card with a crying child.... Our sense of humour is so advanced...

ourwedding5
Told you he had dimples.

P.S. Thanks to Linda for suggesting a wedding pic post. I've been working and in sweats these last days, so the timing is great...
P.P.S. I don't know why the picture quality is low, our printed pics look fine and I'm tooo tiiirred to figure it out now.
P.P.P.S. Linda's getting married in 4 days!!!!

Briannelee

I wore this to my night class last week and a college girl gave me HUGE cut-eye! There were two ways to handle the situation, the not-so-mature way or the mature way.

The not-so-mature way would have been to tell her about my huge landscaping arms that were carefully concealed in a stylish leather bomber, proceed to making fun of her outfit and then tell her that it's not my fault that her boyfriend thinks I'm hot. You do not want to engage in a verbal warfare with me, I always get the last word and I cross the line and you don't want to get in a physical warfare with me because I will sit on you.

HOWEVER, I will be 26 in two short weeks and I'm trying to become a lady my mama would be proud of. So, I imagined that the cut-eye was this girl's way of saying I looked nice and I continued on my merry way to class.

I thought the whole look was a little tougher than I normally dress (though I clearly talk smack), so I used some lighter accessories to keep it sweeter. I won these earrings from Briannelee (my luck is changing, I won something...) and I love how delicate yet very wearable they are and how they don't make my ears hurt. If you haven't checked out her blog on the information super highway, please do so. She's not your typical, daily outfit kind of fashion blogger but she always thrifts and finds the most amazing accessories and knick knacks. I suspect the foundations in her home are very strong to support all the lovely things she takes home. Thanks Brianne, you're super!
