Jeans? Joe Fresh Top? Thrifted  Shoes? Calvin Klein, hand-me-down (similar here
Necklaces? Clyde's Rebirth and (rhinestone one) J. Crew Photos? B. Skeen

I was going to write a whiny post about how this week handed my ass to me on a silver (plated... not worth pawning) platter. I wanted to luxuriate in your internet sympathies and feel very sorry for myself.
Happily for you, I got sidetracked...
These pictures were taken a few weeks ago when I was still in Texas. I am glad I remembered them because we've been having some big technical difficulties around here (though not as big as when a Hamilton news station accidentally ran porn during their morning programming) and it's nice to still be able to post.
When we took these pictures I, as any respectable girl who was a teenager during the 90's should do, immediately grabbed the chair sitting in the alley for an inpromtu Backstreet Boys chair dance. To refresh my memory, I just now looked up the Backstreet Boy chair dance on YouTube and I was rewarded with a plethora of terrible (terribly awesome), rarely viewed videos. Of course there is the groomsmen's dance, I remember the days when being a groomsman just meant going golfing with the groom the day before the wedding. Now you need to to think of ways to get a hit video on Youtube. That led to this video , which is hilarious because the teen performers fall somewhere between making it a big spoof and kinda trying to look cool... the best part starts at 1:22... But most awkward of all, hence, best of all, is this highschool act, which has the guys strutting around the stage in their tanks and smug attitudes and the girls performing some sloppy dance moves in the background. Also awkward? I think the audience can't decide whether to cheer or boo...
And that is the story of how YouTube saved me from writing a post full of complaints because I am too busy giggling. There is nothing like a poorly executed chair dance to put a smile on one's face...

Your top is very pretty. I love the mix of gold and blue, combined with all the beaded work that went into it, making it such a gorgeous piece!

I love all things shiny and your outfit here is perfect without being to over the top.

But most of all thank you for getting BSB stuck in my head. I have the urge now to run home and pull out my old cd's (which I am sure I still have somewhere)

Oh Yen, I am so sorry that your week sucked, but you always make me smile with your words and your style. I am going to have to check these links out. PS-have you heard of "whatshouldwecallme.com"? Another excellent way to waste time and get a giggle.

When I saw the title of this post, I was hoping it was going to reference the "As Long As You Love Me" chair dance. Awesome. My neighbor and I learned this chair dance and videotaped ourselves doing it, but thankfully, that was before the days of youtube.

All the time is a good time for Backstreet Boys chair dances. Love that top, and is that a new brand of lipstick?

Your pointy necklace looks like it could double as a weapon, which is awesome.

Also, now I have BSB's "Bye Bye Bye" stuck in my head, so thanks for that :)

I find it personally offensive that you can look so attractive while standing/dancing on a chair. Give the rest of us a break and please look stupid for once, okay?! No? Okay, fair enough. :)

I love all your cobalt and glitter, woman. And those shoes- yes! The combo of all this goodness makes me willing to listen to you complain about pretty much anything. Please, complain away!
