Desperation

Cardigan? Thrifted Sweater vest? Thrifted Pants? Zara Shoes? Aldo Cuff? Auction

It seemed like this outfit would never get photographed. Matt worked late and didn't get home until a few hours past sundown. I would have taken my own pictures like a big girl, but I left the attachment thingy (technical term, of course) for the tripod in Matt's truck. So, in desperation, I called my little brother to help out. He was hesitant. I upped the ante by offering to buy him dinner. Yes, I paid for outfit pictures with a Subway sandwich... it was a 12" and it wasn't the Sub of the Day either. That kid knows how to swing a deal.
When he took my pictures he told me that he had just returned from the gym and until I haggled for his time, he had been looking forward to 'just going home, chilling out and shooting the shit out of some zombies'.

Sadly, the sun was pretty low already and the pictures weren't as sharp as I had hoped. Looking through the slightly blurry photos, I got a real moment of sadness as I realized just how pathetically desperate I was to get some pictures. I'm glad my little brother plays zombie computer games... it makes me feel a bit better about myself.

Love the boots (I *just* bought the same pair in black) and I love the way you paired them with rolled up pants. The colours are fantastic!

Aw the things a blogger will give up for some OOTD pics. Random fact-I worked at Subway (or Scrubway as I used to call it) for eight years. Let me tell you, had your brother opted for double meat, you might have found yourself in a predicament.

I love your gold top and the trousers are dope. (<----I'm bringing this back in a major way. With me?)

yes but those boots are KILLER. whoa. so amazing. should i say it again? love those shoes. really. i do. and you should tell your brother to get over it. that's what i tell my son when he has to come with me for photos. (and then i have to bribe him and shower him with kisses :)

Love love that sequined top! Nice to know I'm not the only one who pays for pictures, sister usually asks for ice cream in return!

Getting outfit pictures is getting harder with daylight savings time ending soon... I don't get home most days until 5:30, and it's already dusky. At some point, I'm going to have to figure out how to get nice pictures in the dark! :)

Love the blog, Jentine! Nobody thrifts like you do!

i love the hammered look of that top. i just want to yell directions at your brother to focus on the top more! how do you do it all?? (thrift, model AND direct a shoot?)

Your candor is refreshing. That last statement really kills me! And my, oh, my. Is that (faux) fur on your cardigan?! Regardless, the texture is terrific.

The colour of your top is such an unusual colour and so eye-catching and with the burgundy? Love it!

I love every bit of this.
Especially the shooting zombies part.
My evenings are spent watching the son and husband play Call of Duty so I know all about shooting things...

You've got the perseverance to take your OOTD pictures at least! I'd give up if I didn't have boyfriend/tripod to rely on. I didn't know they made sequined sweater vests? I love sequins lately so this is making me all kinds of happy.

Those boots are pretty fantastic. Since I just started taking outfit pics, the husband is still kind of into it (the photography part at least). Wonder at what point I'll start having to bribe...

this may be my favorite outfit yet. you're lucky you can bribe your brother with something as easy as a subway sandwich; it takes quite a bit more convincing for me to get my husband to spare about 3 minutes to take pictures for me. i'm going to tell him what the going rate for playing photographer is these days so maybe he'll realize he's been asking for too much!

Regardless of your struggles your pictures still look lovely! I’m in love with your shoes!

that's somewhat why I slightly lost interest in outfit posting.getting someone to take your picture... and asking them awkwardly 'uhhh can you take a bunch of pictures of me while i pretend im a model?" I just couldnt do it haha. except with my mom. and those ALWAYS come out blurry.

maybe ill take outfit pics this weekend. if i change out of my sweats at all. no promises on that one.
and i love this cuff btw. ive probably said that before but it's truly awesome. its not even 9 am and you are getting a comment from me. u should feel special. you've probably been up since 4 am.

Oh man, I don't think I could bribe my brothers to take my photos with a dozen sandwiches let alone one. Big sister has some mad manipulation skills. I tip my hat.
This outfit looks amazing, especially the colors. So many pretty jewel tones! Fall is just the greatest.

I love the color combination. This is such a cute look so, what you had to go through to share it was worth it. For what it's worth, the pictures aren't bad. ^_^

ahha I don't think I will ever be desperate enough to ask my little brother to take Outfit pics. He would make fun of me til the day I die. What a nice brother you have, giving up video games and getting a free sub. What a deal.

I think I just laughed out loud by the Subway comment. By the way, I love your shoes. The whole outfit is stunning!

That's an awesome story. I know what you mean about the sinking sun. I can be a downright harpy about good lighting.

Love the primary colors. The only thing I pay my photographer (read: husband)is the joy of my company. He doesn't know how good he's got it.

Oh man I wish I could bribe people to take my pics for me. Sadly my little brother lives around 400 miles away!

Glad your outfit did get snapped though, that vest is gorgeous. So pretty!

Well, the pictures might not be the best, but I love the location! What kind of building is that?

Laurel- It's Dundurn Castle in Hamilton, I use it for pictures all the time... just different little pieces of it.
