Reunion

Sequin jacket? Thrifted Button-up? Brina and Em, Winners Shorts? Joe Fresh Shoes? Latitude femme, Style Sense

This weekend it was finally my high school reunion. I wore this the day after. The reunion was held at a workshop and I knew it would get cold at night, so I dressed warm, keeping my cold bloodedness in mind. I would have liked to wear this though; it's my favourite mix of casual and ridiculously sequined.

Reunions are a funny thing. If I don't see a really close friend for 3 days, I can't wait to talk to her and catch her up on how the cats have been sleeping, the size of the pile of dishes in the sink and what way I've been parting my hair... But when an old classmate asks me after 10 years 'Anything exciting happen to you?', I can't think of the right words and I end up saying 'Not much... and you?'. Which is bull$hit, right? Because in 10 years so many things have happened; exciting things, crazy things, sad things... It's just hard to sum it up in one tiny conversation without sounding like you are a)bragging b)insane or c)using them as therapist...

Even though high school reunions have very high potential to be awkward and uncomfortable, I do think that our reunion went quite well. Which is nice, because me and two other classmates planned it all and it was a lot hard work... I am quite glad it is done now. If I could give any advice to people concerning upcoming reunions, I would recommend not volunteering to organize the whole thing, instead put your efforts into thinking of the perfect answer to 'Anything exciting happen to you?'...

Adoring this entire outfit. The coat is stunning as are the shoes. Well done on organising the reunion, they take so much time and effort.

Your outfit is so perfect! Love the sparklies with the casual. :)
What a horrible question - it's kind of like the ubiquitous 'tell me about yourself' that always seems to come up in an interview. Aaack! Just look mysterious and say 'oh, just too much to tell.' :)

I love this outfit! It's so much fun.

Anytime I'm expected to just tell someone what I've been up to, I tell them about an exciting trip I've taken or am about to take. Maybe that is bragging, but I like to hear about their trips too, and it's not like I take the world's most exotic trips. I love to ask people where they recommend going so I can have a good idea for my next vacation, even if that won't be for a long, long time.

I can't stop thinking of the Court Jester when you wear that jacket. I have a feeling Danny Kaye would have approved mightily of it's sequin powers.

Aw, I skipped out on my high school reunion. I was a freak in high school. A freak I tell you! If they could only see that I retired (for now) my lime green fishnets. Oh well, maybe the next reunion.

I love your sequin goodness and the booties. Work it girl!

Will keep that in mind... I'm not even sure I want to see my high school classmates again though!

I think you look fab and if they had seen you like this they wouldn't have asked if anything was going on because there's obviously plenty going on.

Love those shoes. I'll take them.

how do you do it? how do you ALWAYS look amaze-balls?
i had a great hs reunion as well...everyone got along so well, it was like being in the twilight zone. jocks and geeks chit chatted, the mean girls clinked glasses with the band-o's...it was awesome. so awesome, that everyone agreed we should have a 15 year celebration. crazy, yeah?
i'm glad you had a good time!

lol I've been waiting to go to my high school reunion since, like, elementary school! I'm still in college so it won't happen for another while, but I'm seriously dying to know what everyone (including myself) will be like in a few years.

in other news, i want your cardigan. it's baller.

Yeah, I had a nearly nervous breakdown this afternoon when I realized that my high school reunion is in two years. Yikes!

Love this outfit, too! Ten points for sequins.

I am in love with those shoes, first of all. Second, I don't think I'll be attending my reunions when the time comes. I was hardly close to the 800+ other people in my class. I guess we'll see how I feel when the invite comes.

Ha! I actually feel like nothing happened, or at least not as much as should have happened in my life within the last 10 years. If I was invited to a school reunion I probably wouldn't go.
That jacket is crazy (in a good way)!
