Poncho? Thrifted Jeans? Gap Boots? Winners Belt and Purse? Thrifted
I feel a bit like I am disappointing my brother by wearing a poncho... He probably doesn't remember but we used to bond over our mutual hate of the poncho. A few years ago it just seemed like every woman decided that it was the clothing item of choice and for a time, our church was a sea of ponchos.
I just did a Google image search for ponchos (you bored? waste time here) and as it turns out, there is such a thing as a good poncho and a bad poncho. The ponchos of my youth can definitely be classified as bad ponchos but this one is all good. I just hope my brother likes it too... Though I worry that without our mutual and all consuming hate of ponchos, my brother and I have nothing in common. Maybe I can introduce him to the Litas and we will have something new to dislike together...?

Just this week I was about to donate my poncho because I never wear it. Now you've made me rethink that plan.
A shared dislike of ponchos is a good family trait.

To tell you the truth when I saw the poncho on you, I was shocked. Then I read what you said and so apparently there was a reason... you used to hate ponchos. You wear that one very well, I must say.

I do have to admit I love them...always have. My Mom made me one in the mid-70's when I was in grade school. I have a very gray one in the closet right now...it's going to be making an appearance shortly.
I really really like capes too but don't know that I could ever pull that off. Maybe too Nanny911.

I'm pretty sure that as long as you can share the ultimate mutual dislike of Crocs, you are all set. That being said, I am a poncho lover. Especially this one, belted. Who could hate this? And the boots are great as well.

This poncho is great! There are many that are not. :( My brother and I have bonded a lot over mutual trends that we dislike ... and then it seems a few years later I, too, start wearing them. Gives my brother something new to make fun of me about. :)

We had a friend a few years ago we called Poncho. It stuck so much that when people mentioned Eric... I would reply with "who's Eric? ohhhh Poncho!"

THANK YOU for mentioning the Lita. Ugliest "fashionable" thing that EVERY dang fashion blogger seems to be wearing. I think they are extremely ugly.

This fo' sho is a good poncho...I will say that even sometimes I think Juan Valdez was going somewhere when he was sporting his poncho whist riding his donkey.
I definitely agree that there's a good/bad poncho divide! I have a gorgeous black wool poncho/cape and it's so warm but somehow manages to look pretty slick too.

Oh good, finally someone else who hates Litas! I think they're the ugliest shoe, and don't understand why they're so popular. It's like when you buy your fashion blog url you're also issued a pair of Litas.
I also dislike ponchos (but love capes!), and I'm sorry to say that you haven't swayed me in that regard. But I hope we can still be friends (meaning you won't ban me from commenting on your blog).

I love your poncho! Its definitely a "good" poncho. Plus, you belted it, which makes it much better.
I took a foray into poncho land when I was in junior high. It only took wearing it once to realize that it was not a good poncho and that ponchos are not for me.
I also used to not like ponchos but I just found a pretty cobalt blue wool one at Goodwill so I'm going to give it a try! You look super cute!

I have a burberry poncho that i love. Even if they are not "in style" I wear mine. I love the plaid and I like warmth.
Oh man, I hate the Litas too. Its a style that only women with small feet can get away with (Me not being one of the small feet people out there) and I wouldn't say they get away with it very well...It makes someone with size 7 feet look like they have size 11 feet.
