Fashionably Too Late

back6back3back4 back2 back1

Shirt? Ali & Kris, Winners Sweater? Gap and thrifted Jeans? Gap Necklace and hat? Banana Republic Boots? Winners Fur muff? Consignment store that has been out of business for years...

Remember this post? No need to reread it (unless you are on company time)... I can sum it up for you. Basically, I went to bed when it was spring and I woke up (or got woken up far too early by a work phone call...) and it was still winter. I might as well have saved my bitching because last week it happened again, except this time the snow fall was much worse and the cold snap still hasn't really lifted. But as my winter weather whining quota is used up, I shall take this opportunity to be positive and think about happy things.

Like this plaid shirt, which was $3 in final clearance.

Like the fact that someone left a great lawn chair at the construction site which ended up being really handy...for taking government mandated breaks during outfit pics and stuff...

Like the presence of Diet Coke in my fridge and chili dark chocolate (don't knock it until you try it) in my cupboard.

I feel better already. Though I wouldn't mind it if spring would stop being so fashionably late... being thankful for the little things is hard work.

Spring is an f-ing jerk. I'm about tired of its rude, inconsiderate tardiness. But, if interminable winter means you get to carry around a mini-muffler, I'm a fan. Because seriously, that this is the shiz. I want it. Give it to me! Okay, just kidding...sort of.

I hear ya, this stupid snow is ruining my life...okay so I'm exaggerating. I love the lawn chair...your chicness always amazes me:)

um.....if you are going to look this fan-damn-tastic then i hope spring never shows up. serious. this is way too cool. and i'm maybe more than a bit jealous of your hat.

Kyla said...

It's the Blue Collar Kyla hat! I feel your pain - luckily, we don't have that much snow. At this point, I'm just going to wear all of my spring clothes all at once.

I think I should stop my weather whining. It's still freezing here but at least we don't have all that snow. Looks like the groundhog was wrong. Here's hoping spring isn't too fashionably late!

The hat and the muff together are so chic it almost makes spring's jerkiness worth it.

Chili dark chocolate is one of my most favoritest things in the world.

p.s. I want your boots.

It is so hard from Texas to imagine there are still places with snow...but while you think we are doing great...South Texas is in a severe drought..we need rain,snow,sprinklers... something. Your look though is totally cute!

Wow, love those boots. And as a fellow thrifter, I'm celebrating your $3 shirt with you. Amazeballs.

Spring is being a little bitch this year. But hopefully that means we'll have a long, beautiful summer!

Hi, long time lurker here!
I just had had had to say how I love this outfit's unexpected blend of casual (the plaid) and formal (the muff). It just works. I haven't quite figured out why yet, but it makes me want to figure it out. And try a blend like that from my own closet....

Thanks (as always) for lending courage and creativity!

Well at least you are able to stay fashionable!
I have to say I'm glad I'm not the only one who still has snow in their pictures!

Don't be mad but I already threatened winter in my last post to stay a few more weeks (atleast the snow... so no rain. don't hit me, please! I'm short and defenseless! that's not true, i took my first kickboxing class last night so im a pro at it obviously and i can KILL)
what were we talking about? oh how about how you are a freakin sex bomb.
i hate fur but i love muffs... ok did that sound dirty to anyone other than me, the huge perv?
igot a faux fur one for xmas and I HAVENT EVEN HAD AN OCCASION TO WEAR IT. so frustrating. but really who wants to leave the house at night during winter unless its to go to a bar and sit down. i can't always do short skirts and high heels in 6 feet of snow, im getting too old for that (tho if i was invited to a rad party (say somewheeeeere in ontario) I may say yes)
do you like my long comments? im hungry so the end.

ahh i know what you mean!
i am in toronto and i just want a WARM breeze to go with the gorgeous sunshine! but i am still wearing my winter jacket!
love your outfit, especially the boots!

Before I read what you had written I was thinking to myself how terrible I felt, this poor girl, there is still SNOW where she lives! What is that!

I like the layering over top of the plaid - I have two plaid tops I don't wear very much because I feel like they are too country, and too loud! Good solution.

Morgan and Lua said...

Quit it with the sex eyes in the first pic.

I want it all (the clothes, not the snow). Come to NY and you can dress me. Or when I come to the great white north I'll just stand in your closet until you put clothes on me.
I'll do a little non snow dance for you tonight before I go to bed.

And just so you know, my word verification is "fubess".
Thank you and good night.

You are HOT STUFF. You gonna melt all that snow just with your hotness.

I love the short-sleeve sweater over the plaid shirt. I will absolutely be recreating this. Right away.

This is perfect and classic. The scarf and hat look great together..it almost makes me think winter can stick around for a little longer. (KIDDING!)

I love the cropped sweater over the plaid! So cozy it almost makes me disagree with your call for spring. Almost. After all, I'm sure you have some awesome warm weather outfits dying to make an appearance!

Linda said...

oh yeah, this is so cute.
i totally agree though. my spring is coming way too late. it should be warmer than it is. what's the deal this year? can't wait for it to be summer!

Anonymous said...

I've tried the chili-chocolate and can attest to its yumminess.

Sheila said...

Oh my gosh, I love chili dark chocolate! There's a chocolate store here that makes them by hand...to DIE for. You also need to find Camino chili hot chocolate (oh, yes, it's a drink!) - all organic and deeee-lish.

Am working on sending Spring your way, as soon as it hits here. Would you take rain?

Nadine said...

Oh my lord, how cute are you with the fur and the crochet and the tartan/plaid . . ?! (I was craving some chili chocolate just before I read this post. Spooky)

Love this outfit... If you have to suffer the snow and cold at least you are doing it with chic style.

I bought that plaid shirt at Winners too; but I paid 13 for it...sigh

Such a bummer about the snow. This winter seems to be lasting insanely long. You look great though. Your muff is beautiful as well. Get warm soon.

Another great look! I find tons of inspiration from reading your blog, some of which I've reposted on my Pinterest boards. Which is why I thought I would pass along the "Stylish Blogger Award" nomination I recently received (although I wouldn't be surprised if you've already received one of those, but hey never hurts to be acknowledge rigth...)
Cheers

Love the outfit!

Don't worry, spring will be here soon - and that means new clothes to wear! In the meantime, wear some bright colours to fight the winter blues.

Emma at Daily Clothes Fix said...

Wow, that's a whole lotta snow. But I love how your shirt adds colour to a wintry scene.

And I love chilli chocolate although unfortunately I have none in the house which is bad news for the craving that has now started.
