Wrap dress? Maggy London, thrifted
Trench? Mackage, Winners
Boots? Aldo
Wristlet? Coach, bridesmaid gift
Bracelets? Crazy lady at The Ex (winner in the next post...)

There was a sad time a few weeks ago when I thought my thrifting luck was running out. And the thought frightened me because my conversations with friends start out with the cat summaries ( F.Y.I., Kyle is looking even fluffier lately, Stella is being very cuddly/slutty and B.E.C. ate the tulle hem off a skirt this weekend) and end with the thrift round-up. What can I say? You want to be my friend... If I lost my magic thrift powers, I would have nothing to wear and nothing to say. And girls' night would be awkward if I was naked and silent.... but it's a moot point because I'm back in the game... taking names, kicking ass. The turning point was finding this dress ... If silk is first base, leopard print is second and the wrap styling is third base; then finding the dress in my size was a home run. And getting it for $5 is like a double scoop waffle cone after the game... an ice cream cone that you deserve because you ran around the bases and burned those calories.

Wow... I'm throwing around the sports metaphors like someone's trying to steal home... too much? I'm done, I promise.

  2. This it the BEST outfit.. I love it with the booties... you look awesome.. yeah, I totally know what you mean, usually I go into a thrift store with a vision of what I want, and alas, I find exactly what I am looking for -- like the magic touch.. then I will go for a stretch where it seems like there are no new clothes for weeks in those stores.. dry spell.. guess the trick is to follow your shopping intuition and go when you feel the itch!

  3. Not too much. I'm laughing at how clever and amazing you are and drooling over how HOT. Gorgeous, simply. Brains AND beauty AND a deft hand with the wordsmithery? Oh so not fair.

I guess you need to have low points in order to fully appreciate the highs! And failing that, there's kitties.

  19. Oh my gosh, what a fab dress! I would buy that full price (maybe. If it was at the Bay and they had one of their spot "40% off" sales).

However, the Best Thrift Ever is my $3.99 Prada blouse. There. I said it.

  42. I just want to say I found your blog from whatiwore (and I dont visit that blog very often anymore for reasons I wont get into), but I saw your vintage dress and was immediately IN LOVE! That beautiful dress itself inspired me to look for vintage dresses while thrifting.

So then I visited your blog, and can I tell you I went through it all (not at one time mind you). I love so many of your outfits and you are such an inspiration! By far one of my favorite, if not favorite fashion blogger. And for the record, I don't usually comment on peoples blogs, but I just had to tell you how much I love your outfits!
