Matt and I have trespassed plenty of times to get outfit shots but this is the first time I have ever felt bad doing it. Maybe because it was an effort trespass, hanging unto a fence for dear life, trying to scoot around it without falling into the deep ditch. Everyone who lives around here knows where these pictures were taken and knows that it's along a busy highway, making it feel even more awkward. And then a van load of people stopped at the side of the highway to watch us trespass and take pictures. But I wanted pictures with my dino buddy... These were the quickest set of pictures we've ever taken, I wish we had taken the time to play around with the background a bit more but I was worried we would get in trouble. The truth is, I just like to worry but if we did get 'caught' I would have ran like I was still in Grade 8 and fast enough to get second at the 100 m. dash on Track and Field Day. I don't condone trespassing but we are always polite. I have never tagged 'My Edit Wuz Here' on any walls and let's just spin this into a positive, it's like free promotion isn't it? If anyone wants a dinosaur in their backyard, you know who to contact. Holler at your girl.

This outfit is very different from what I usually wear. I think I would have liked it with some strappy, tall heels but I would probably like every outfit with strappy, tall heels. It felt like I should be going to some indie music festival wearing these boots instead of singing along to Justin Bieber f. Jaden Smith ( 'I can handle it...') in my car. Sometimes getting dressed is a big optical illusion.

The result of a rushed photo shoot... we should have considered how awkward my placement is...

Ah the thrill of the shoot! How inspiring. Perhaps I need to venture from the safety of my bookcase...

If you tagged in a NZ accent it would be 'My Edit Woz Hia' (possibly even 'Mai Edit . .').

The way the long skirt hides your shoes makes it look like you ARE wearing strappy, tall heels anyway. More optical illusions.

I love that I know EXACTLY where those pictures were taken, and have driven past Mr. Stompy (as we named him) many a time! And just take heart in remembering that dinosaur poop can be fossilized into a coprolite, so there's always a chance you and your outfit will be preserved for all time.

Those pics are definitely worth it. I would so climb a fence to pose with him. Love the pink.

It doesn't look like you trespassed; there are vehicles right behind you? Or was it closed?

Anyways, cute outfit. A little more formal than I would wear for everyday but I love it on you.

Hahahaha...that last picture is hilarious.
You totally would've fit in at the Arcade Fire concert we were at this weekend...although you have less armit hair ;)

...and by armit hair I meant "arm pit"

Those dinos are not easy to access. I've always wanted to stop there. But I don't think I have. Maybe when I was like 8... but that was a long time ago, and maybe I just saw them?

Yen, how many times do I have to tell you, whenever you want to take a picture with Dino, all you have to do is call me and I will happily let you in my back yard. You are lucky I didn't unleash the hounds on this one.

However, you are, by far, the best looking piece of dinosaur poop I have ever seen!

You look like a cute Dino baby!

Thank you for dropping by my blog and even leaving a comment - that made my day!

Adorable! I'm wearing a long black skirt today as well. I'm really feeling the look of the column on you!

Yay! I often wondered (okay, not like super often because I like to pretend I am not obsessed with other people's blogs) when the local dinosaurs would end up in your outfit pictures. I have almost driven into oncoming traffic on several occasions because of those guys. Obviously that rates some minor trespassing for the good of the blogging universe.

And that colour looks wonderful on you. Plus it's hard to run away in strappy heels. But not impossible.

The pop of colour looks great on you. I love how you've toned it down with neutrals, and the hat is just icing.
You're like a fashion crusader, risking life and limb to get us interesting pictures. Thanks hon!

Oh my gosh, that last one is hilarious! Love all the dino photos...even if it was a B&E!

GS said...

i agree with linda, this is the fanciest piece of brontosaurus poo i've ever seen. now can we talk about why there is a dinosaur off the side of the highway?

Kelly said...

Those photos are great! So worth trespassing for!

I'm hollering! I covet that dinosaur. I want him for my very own!

Love how flowy and comfortable you look. That top looks so easy to wear and the hat gives the outfit a great little twist. This is definitely the best possible outfit for trespassing to hang with dinosaurs.

Seriously, I want him. I'd marry him...or at least make him lunch.

@Patricia- The vehicles were locked in, I think they are the work vehicles.
@Glitter Scrubs- The dinosaurs are there just for me to pose with. Is that so hard to believe? I think it's a patio furniture place and the dinos and other creatures suck in all the poor parents of children who point in rapture.

lucky number 31!! insert white girl holler here. I wouldn't ever have put these items together.. because on my body, I'd look like a lumpy sack. You however, could literally wear a potato sack and not only would your legs look amazing, but you'd start a tator sack revolution. You'd probably even wear some vintage pins to give it shape.. god I wish I could hate you somedays.

I don't think theres a legal team alive that could cover my family if I were to start giving tours.. seriously one of the weirdest places I've ever been. And it's my home. Explains a lot eh?

Hey, when you put a huge dinosaur out, do you really expect people to not want to take photos with it??

I love the bright silk top, and the fedora, quite cute!!

Before I even read that last line, my first thought on the last photo was "that dinosaur just pooped a Jen!" Hehe - so glad the humor was not lost on you :) I love this outfit. It is different for you, but oh, you can wear it! The drapey tank is so perfect!

that last photo makes me laugh EVERY TIME (which really only is 2...)
I think what really kills me is you're posing all DIVA and completely oblivious to the fact that your below a dino butt.
I didnt really register it either till you pointed it out.
Ok I think 3 comments in half an hour on your blog is my limit, I gotta play hard to get a LITTLE.
