Skirt? Vintage, thrifted Boots? Holts  (very similar hereSweater? Vintage, thrifted Cuff? Unikati (here)
Belt? Moschino (mine's fake (for shame), got it with a whole bunch of vintage but one day I'll get the real one here) Split ends? My own

Well, 'tis the season. The time of year where taking outfit pictures involves putting on a brave face and thinking about balmy weather in places other than Ontario, Canada. Soon, I won't even have to put on a brave face, it will just be frozen into place.
It always amazes me that I look forward to the good parts of each season and conveniently forget the crappy parts. Like when I think of the summer, all I dream about are beach days and front porch beverages with friends and then in real life, I'm always surprised that it's mosquitoes, not friends, who are some of my most constant companions. It's the same way for the winter... I love the holiday season and all the warm tingles in my heart that go along with that. I also love the first few snow falls where the world is covered in a peaceful white layer... It snowed earlier this week (clearly these pics were taken before that...) and I was thrilled with how pretty our street looked.
I forgot about how cold cold is though... I know that's a weird sentence but it's true. There's that cold that just takes away your breathe and that turns your hands into frozen claws and it's like 'oh yes, this sucks'. It's the same cold that freezes your car locks and leaves a layer of ice over the windshield.

Why can't winter be just like it is on Pinterest; a magical season filled with sparkly lights, peppermint mochas and oversized scarves?

  1. I love this skirt! Although it's a great vintage find, I am sad that it's not available in stores for me to go buy!!

  2. I feel ya, although I always hate the winter--except Christmas, which I promptly start celebrating the moment I feel a chill in the air. I do wish that winter was like Pinterest--then I would call it Winterest. And I would always have a beanie that fell perfectly in place on my head and pretty leather gloves that never froze into a solid mannequin-esque scary pose. Aw, tis the season. Dammit.

    Love the belt.

  3. We're on track to break records for the warmest and unsnowiest November on record here. I don't miss the cold temps but I do miss the snow, so I'm hopping on your contradiction sentiment.

I just thrifted a blanket skirt a few weeks ago, I love getting more inspiration for it!

  4. I'm convinced most of the Pinterest winter-themed boards are put togethers by people living in California, or just somewhere where winter can be handled with a latte and a warm coat. Alas, winter here in Chicago actually means dressing like the Goodyear blimp and you still won't feel your toes for three months.

  5. You're hot. It's imperical. Love the boots, blanket skirt, crop combo - but that belt is a touch of genius.
