Last week Katy from Modly Chic started some discussion via FBFF about blogging participation. I participated as I do every week... mentally. It's not that I don't want to share and join in fashion blogging activities but as I already have problems even getting my Thrift Thursday posts up on a Thursday, I am hesitant to commit to anything with a set schedule (... in blogging... I do show up on time at work). The heart is willing but the body is not able... heck yes, I just wrote that.

I knew, however, there was no getting out of this edition of Everybody, Everywear, so I put on my best blazer and worked it out. I joined, not out of a sense of community but out of a sense of fear. A while back, I told Linda from The Auspicious Life a harmless little landscaping tale and she, in turn, made it sound like a felony. And now, I am doing all I can to stay on Linda's good side... I send her gushy tweets, I wear a blazer on her schedule and I'm even thinking of sending her one of most precious... Which cat would you like, Linda?

I am actually quite glad that Linda and Liz urged us to bust out a blazer today. Any day I get to wear elbow patches is a good day and I love how the blazer looks with the mustard top and the purple jeans. What I didn't love was almost ending up in the ditch along a country road while taking these pictures. But all is well that ends well... whoa... two over-used phrases in one post. I need to stop blogging and watch some television.

And yes, I am posing by a pile of manure... Another glamourous day.

  1. Oh my tits, you are exquisite! Also, how excited am I that I'm the first to comment? That, like, NEVER happens to me when I visit your awesome blog.

  2. i've never met an elbow patch i didn't love. and the ones on this blazer do not disappoint. and you can wear mustard unlike ANYONE I KNOW (or kinda know via the internets but will meet irl NEXT MONTH) (so sorry i keep yelling at you :)

  3. while the blazer is beautiful, it's the mustard ruffles that catch my eye. Now, what's that landscaping story. Inquiring minds want to know.

  4. love this outfit. that color tank is adorable!

  5. I did the blazer thing too and if I'm honest, I reached for my mustard top as well. It's mustard colored not actually... well you get it. I decided against it, but you pulled it off my friend!

  6. Beautiful outfit. The colours are divine!

  7. That mustard shirt is just so pretty. Love the feminine detail and the whole color palette you created Jentine. And I'm also really glad a fear of Linda {she's harmless I pinky promise} led you to participate in EBEW because this is hands down one of my favorite looks.

  8. Yeah, this is just about the BEST EFFING THING EVER. I love the colors.

  9. Hahahahaha the manure is awesome, 'another glamourous day' - so witty, ugh, makes me sick ;)

Loving the blouse - pretty ruffles.

OKAY! So, I can't access your blog at work (among MANY other blogs) and evenings have been so busy lately and I've missed SEVERAL posts - now since you're not likely going to go back and re-LOOK at your comments, I just have to say, the 'SNOW MORE' post?! Ummmm AMAZING. The last picture of you (you know, the one you couldn't crop out the 'riff raff' -lol, btw-) is awesome, and ridiculously hilarious - well done Yen. But mainly, the entire post rocks - it's like you're in Antartica. Riiiiight.

Lastly, I was in Burlington on the weekend (Uncle's bday) and while on the 401 I saw the sign for Hamilton (45km's away) and gave a silent 'hi Yen' - was totally thinkin' about cha. Ha.
    ...hope that's not creeeeeeepy :S

  10. Blogging definitely takes a back seat in my life to, well, my real life.
Sometimes I even comment in my head to a blogger but never seem to actually type it out....
Wait, am I really typing this to you or just thinking it????

P.S. If I am really typing this I wanted to say I love that blazer!

  12. What a beautiful outfit - even by a pile of manure. I love that blouse. I know Gap isn't as popular as JCrew and Madewell these days, but I still love almost everything they make.

And I'm with you on the blogging front. Blogging on a schedule is hard work!

  21. Hahaha, Linda intimidated me to post my blazer pic today too! We live in the same city so she can guilt me in person. Really, she's wonderful and I like to support her EBEW agenda -- and blazers are awesome!! -Colleen

  22. i am in ♥ with this outfit. it may be the blouse with its flirty ruffles. it may be the socks peeking out of those boots. it may be the satchel calling my attention. it just may be that blazer that i know i can never pull off.

  36. Megan- I didn't fall in the ditch, the truck nearly got stuck. And then we would have had to call Matt's work to get pulled out and it would have been a super embarrassing story... or just a mystery.
Lady K- oops... I meant, shirt and socks... I had a little blogger blooper and erased my entire post so this one was written a bit too quickly and in a state of frustration...

  37. I adore that blazer! I am so jealous. All of my local thrifting stores seem to only carry blazers for shorter women. This however is the perfect pattern and length! Great find!

    ReplyDelete
  38. Elbow patches make everything better! I love your blazer! This was my first time doing the EBEW thing too and it was fun! I think I would die if I found those boots in a thrift store!

  39. Yeah, but you make that pile of manure SPARKLE.

For serious, this is the golden glowiest outfit ever. I love it. Its all proper English countryside, a little disheveled, absolutely perfect.

  42. I hear you! There are so many things that I would love to actively participate in, but doing daily posts is even a challenge. LOVE this outfit...I mean I love all your outfits. There really isn't one that I've seen that I don't adore.

  43. This is such a great contrast of colors. I love how instead of just focusing on the mustard and purple, you instead coordinated most of the pieces around the mustard, mixing in olives, tans, and browns, and then let the purple be a great pop of contrast. So well done!

  51. I love that you are posing beside manure. is that weird? I need to steal those boots... However I'm pretty sure you are NOT a size 6. bummer. I could wear a few pairs of wool socks?
p.s. elbow patches always remind me of a simpsons episode where homer is a teacher and he cut out elbow holes from one jacket to sew them onto another one... to have elbow patches. I used to have a corduroy blazer with elbow patches... did i get rid of it? hmmm i guess i did.
