Compliments and Conversations

Shirt? LuLu's (here or  pinstripe hereShorts? h&m (formerly pants) Hat? h&m
Shoes? Coach, Winners (similar here)

This shirt is a bit of a contradiction. Half the shirt is missing, the rest is sheer and one would expect it to be cool and breezy but the fact that it is polyester, actually makes it a little sweaty to wear. Which wouldn't regularly be a big deal... I could just glow a little on a hot day and then hug a air conditioner when I am in the vicinity of one, but I've been working by myself a lot lately and the loneliness is messing with my mind. Now whenever someone tells me they like my shirt (it happens... no big deal), I can't just say 'thank-you' and move on because I feel the need to explain exactly how sweaty this shirt makes me. And why it makes me sweaty. And then I hang around hoping somebody will mention cats just so I can have more to talk about.

I am so desperate for conversation I can't even take a compliment gracefully...

  4. Hahah, you're hilarious. Well, the shirt does look nice, but to push the conversation forward, are you a fan of Maru the cat? Maru loves to jump into boxes, and he's the cutest. :)

  5. All my favorite shirts make me sweaty. Maybe it's because I know people will compliment me and that tends to make me sweaty...or maybe I'll just tell everyone they are polyester. Yes, that's what I'll do ;)

  10. So true. I have many shirts that do the same thing and also find myself giving away boring details to anyone who will listen. It's just nice to have company sometimes :)

  11. God, what a cool (although not literally) top. And I'm obsessed with baggy jean shorts for the summer.

  12. Before I meet my boyfriend I use to go on campus just for the human contact. A thesis is very unsocial like that!

  19. You may feel sweaty, but you look so cool in that outfit. Love it that you saved the surprise deep-V back for the last picture. What a stunning exit you must make.

Today I found the greatest thing at an estate sale - a pair of unbleached heavy weight muslin University of Pennsylvania gym shorts from 1944 (U of P '44 GYM is stenciled in navy block letters on one leg of the shorts, which have a drawstring waist that ties in front). I put them on immediately when I got home and don't want to take them off. Wonder what the original owner did in them? Basketball? Calisthenics?

  21. Hate that feeling of my shirt sticking to me if I'm sweaty. At least that's a cute shirt!

I work out of my home office and I start to get desperate after a while. In fact, my cats are my work buddies-lol. Totally get it :)

Glad I stumbled across your blog! New follower :)

  26. Clearly, a rechargeable lantern is the ideal form of lighting for any camping trip. One of the world's leading manufacturers of high performance primary batteries is Duracell batteries. The first non-rechargeable Lithium batteries were developed in the 1970s. There are then visible signs available that the child does not seem to be growing along with his or her age group. It is important to know how to keep you razor in good condition so it will last a long time and will save you the expense of purchasing a new one.
