I don't shop at Forever 21 a lot. I wish I could claim that it is my moral opposition to fast fashion and consumerism but I am guilty on both of those counts. I find F21 terrifying because of the sheer volume of teenagers in one place. So many teenagers... texting, talking about boys and going crazy over trends that have manifested themselves in polyester. Trends that often involve tiny shirts and even tinier shorts... it all makes me so nervous! Annnndddd.... now I sound like a prudish grandmother. When all I really wanted to say, was that I braved the teenage crowd at F21 in order to buy a vest that looks like a bath mat. And then I combed the vest in order to make it fuzzier... Just like my hair as a teenager...
Hahaha!!! I think you did that vest a good deed by brushing it out :) It looks more lux that way I think...compared to a bathmat anyways. And you're right. F21 is a terrifying place if you're no longer a teenager.
ReplyDeleteOh F21 - scary indeed. I get so completely overwhelmed and pissed the second I step into the shop. But I love their cheap-o jewelry. Love/hate I suppose.

ReplyDeletei knocked out six teenage girls with my giant "grownup" purse in order to buy the same vest. it was totally worth it.
ReplyDeleteokay, that was an exaggeration, but the process of buying it was quite scary, but not scary enough to take off my mittens in order to text anyone about it. and now i might have to give mine a good brushin' after seeing yours all groomed up pretty!

ReplyDeleteI look through the giant glass windows and I WANT to go in, I WANT to find all the adorable dresses and killer deals but most of the time I just can't bring myself to go in. And then of course, the times I do go in the dresses are so short they barely cover my ass...so yeah....I'll let the teenagers keep that one.

i get pretty scared in f21 too. i find that the loud music, bright lights, and shiny surfaces mess with my head. and then i get all confused and disoriented and i can't remember my name. but that vest is totally worth the nervous tic it may have caused. you look smokin'.

I have a pink fuzzy vest that I got from F21 last year and I have been planning to style it up lately, but it is a tough one. I think I have some solid ideas though. I love the way you worked this one. Super cute. F21 is scary. Makes me want to buy a pair of sensible slacks when I leave just to even things out!

I find F21 much more appealing online :) I just love how you paired your vest over that amazing coat. I haven't been brave enough to try fur yet...but I'm working up to it! It looks great on you, that's for sure!
ReplyDeleteI've found lots of good stuff in F21, but only at home in the toronto stores (vaughan mills is my fave). Here in Vancouver, everything is sooo small, 80's (in a bad way), and waaaay too flashy for me. And ridiculously short. Occasionally I can luck out and find something work appropriate though!
