Dress? Handmade and thrifted Jacket? French Connection and dip dyed Shoes? Jeffrey Campbell (bought with a giftcard I won from LuLu's) Clutch? Old Navy, thrifted Bangles? thrifted Earrings? F21
This weekend, magic was happening in my kitchen. We had friends over and I whipped up some home made pizzas, including my famous sweet potato and brie pizza. I say famous but that might be a stretch; it's just really good and I make it whenever people I like come over. Beside my assembly line of delicious pizzas, I had my denim jacket arranged on the counter with the sleeves carefully folded in yogurt tubs of bleach. And then beside the denim jacket, was the laptop... playing YouTube clips of Charlie Sheen (I blame Matt for this). I told you... magic?
I 100% took the idea of bleaching out the sleeves of a denim jacket from Jessie of The Concrete Catwalk. I had been following her blog for a while already but then I met her in Texas last month and she is as sweet as she looks. Sweet and smart and really driven... Being around her was a little kick in the butt to stop being content with just making sarcastic comments at the television and to start making things happen. You know, like... big things. If I were cool, I would have put her look on pininterest (thanks for explaining it to me La Petite Josette) but we all know I don't participate in trends like that until they are so last year. I tweeted about it though. Have you heard of this thing called Twitter? It's crazy... You should follow me. I shared my dream about Justin Beiber on it today...
I love the jean jacket + bleached cuffs look! I might have to pick up a thrifted jacket to try this with. Now I have a project to look forward to!
ReplyDeleteLove the outfit especially the contrasting prints of the dress and bag. I am so envious of how great you are at thrift/consignment/vintage shopping. You have such a wonderful sense of style.

ReplyDeleteI'm going to take it upon myself to sum up the rest of the comments and my own sentiments about this ensemble: oh my goodness, the dress. So fantastic! Especially with the shoes and the clutch... Now please excuse me while I rustle up a jean jacket for my own copy.

ReplyDeleteBut I has a question...how's about that pizza recipe?? Sweet potato and brie?? Holy yumminess, PLEEZ do tell.
See...my husband is so wonderful, but he doesn't like brie and I'm like WTF SIR?? He loves pizza (and has been known to make it himself), so I wonder if your version could convert him? Like...do you use tomato sauce or no? :)

Amanda- tsk, tsk... not courtesy of. I haven't dipped my toes in that pool yet. I got the gift card for travelling the furthest to go to the Texas for the conference. It made the price of the flights worth it... or not. Those were worth it by meeting you!
ReplyDeleteMorgan- I am tall. Get ready. 5'11. But I like short ladies (like Amanda) as they snuggle well.
@Someone and anyone else who cares... prob too lazy to do a food post but I use naan bread, a little alfredo sauce, oven roast some sweet potato (sliced), red onion and garlic.. toss those on the naan with brie and some bacon. Bam. Kitchen genius. If only for a moment.
That dress is stunning!
ReplyDeleteThe print on your dress is fantastic!
