leaves

This blog is the edited version of my life. The part of my life that includes sequins, heels, cats and Matt. It's the part of my life that I am happy to share and I am especially happy when my meaningless chatter about frivolous things brings any joy and laughter to any one's life. But there are events in life that bring you to your knees, events that can't be made better by some funny comments or even by all the size 10 shoes in the world. And sometimes those events make my blog seem really silly. Mostly because it is silly. But it's also been a lot of fun and I'm really glad to be writing regularly and to be dressing up... often for nothing special. Wearing too high heels, kissing my cats until they want to escape and jumping into piles of leaves on company time are little things that I am thankful for in my life. I know there is a lot more to life, I'm just glad I can share the fluffy stuff with you, my readers...

  4. Well put, my dear! I echo the comments before mine in saying that I hope this was prompted by something "non-fluffy" happening and if so, we're all there for you in spirit!

It's been wonderful getting to know you through the blog and just so you know, the next time I'm in Hamilton, I'm demanding a real life meet up!

  6. Lovely readers,
Thanks for your concern, I'm really fine. Some things just make me realize more(as if I didn't know though) how trivial my blog is. And it's ok.

  9. Yenster, sometimes things that are trivial are the things that make other people smile more. I say the same thing about Christmas "Lin what do you want for Christmas?" Me "I don't know, maybe for a cure for cancer to be found? For my uncle to miraculously recover? 150 to the charity of your choice?" I honestly don't know what I want for Christmas.

  10. What a gorgeous post, Jentine! Cath and I feel the same way about blogging- but we definitely need a reminder every now and then.
I'm going to jump in some leaves- woohoo!!! (okay, metaphorically because I'm working - we aren't allowed to jump into piles of leaves here- le sigh).

  11. I'm not sure that I believe frivolity is trivial. Maybe individual, frivolous things are less significant, but I think our lives benefit greatly from the light, airy, careless feeling one gets from reveling in the frivolous.

Participating in these blogs helps to keeps me light after hours of editing insurance text at work and paying bills all week. You can't value that enough.

  13. Everything has value, even the trivial. Even if you think it's insignificant, sharing your life in a blog is still touching the lives of others in inspiring them, whether you blog about human rights issues or fashion.

Obviously the 'real life' stuff should take precedence over a blog, though, no matter what the content. Hope everything's ok <3

  16. So sweet! And this looks like too much fun! We used to rake huge piles of leaves at my grandmother's and jump off of the swing into them. Pretty dangerous, but insanely fun!

  20. So true; I like to say the blog is an accurate picture of me, but it's just a picture in a library of films! There's so much more and a blog is tiny, often happy snippet.
